Is there shame among hobbiests?

When you guys come face to face with another hobbiest at an amp, do you get embarassed? There have been occasional times when this has happened to me and it seems that it is a very awkwark moment for the other guy. This happened to me twice this week. At Oceanside I happened to walk out of the bathroom just at the same time one of the girls (Jennifer) walked out of her room with a customer to go to take him to the shower. Jennifer and I started laughing, but the guy made it a point not to look at me as we passed each other in the hall. Today as I was walking out of Smile there was a guy waiting in the foyer to get in. As I walked out I was going to say hi, but he also made a point not to look at me. I mean, hell, we're all there for the same reason. So, what do you guys think when this happens to you?

I'm pretty friendly. I say hello to everyone. I bumped into Torito last week. I met St. Christopher at Hawaii Spa @ 7 years ago. I know of many other hobbiest also. Not awkward for me at all.

I don't ever think about it, like you said everybody is there for the same reason, its not like its a secret what you are doing there. You can look at it this way, you come out of amp and a cop is out front, the cop knows what you were doing in there, but they can't prove it. When i used to go to Pink, i had a favorite provider there, but after one day during a session i came out of the room and the police were in the hall, which freaked me out. So i didn't go for a while and she called me a couple times and asked why i didn't come anymore. We had become good friends so i told her. So eventually every other monday, i would pick her up and we would go to executive spa and have fun and then go and have lunch before rush hour began at Pink.

I look forward to the rare times that I see someone I know. It's kinda cool. If I had a nearby family and job to protect, that might make me nervous. Since that is not the case, I have no hesitation. Always ready to BS. Unless of course I am on a mission that I have not yet completed. LOL In that case, stay the hell out of my way.

Several times I have come face to face in the hall with someone I do not know. Usually, I see them turn away, so I do as well out of respect for their needs. In the AMPs where I have been well acquainted, management has tried to keep customers from seeing each other because many customers are nervous about meeting. Like I said, I think it is fun to meet. I just go with the flow.

I saw a guy as I came out of the steam room @ Aloha lastnight, we briefly looked at each other and just went on about our business. I agree MustangRider , we are there for the same reasons. I live 2 hours away from Dallas...So seeing someone i know will be rare....but ya never know ...that could have been someone from massageplanet lastnight.

Same here. I've made many friends in these forums over the years and very often have lunch or dinner or drinks with them. If I know you and run into you, not awkward. If I don't know you, I'm going to be friendly anyway so still not awkward.

I have to admit, before I found ASPD and subsequently this site, I wasn't much interested in meeting any of the other guys that I encountered at AMPs, albeit very infrequently. After seeing just how many guys frequent these places and aren't afraid to admit it, I've totally changed my outlook on "the hobby".

It does not bother me to meet someone coming or going, and will engage in idle chit-chat if so desired. However, once I ran into someone that I knew from the "outside" world, and I have to admit that it rattled me quite a bit (first, and only, time this has happened.) I still meet him in the regular world, and once I settled down it was not a problem.

Its happened to me a few times especially in the big hallways of Blue Angel during busy times, sometimes running into other guys is unavoidable. I normally do the guy smile and nod while checking out the other hot chick. One time though on a Saturday a few weeks ago I think I saw my boss boss boss (executive VP of my department) going into Sauna as I was being walked out by Jessica at Blue Angel. I think he saw me but am not sure. It was definitely his car outside. What is protocol when you see a boss at an AMP during non-work days? I sorta think it's just like meeting up at the gym on a Saturday and being half dressed in locker room area, no big deal, after all we are both there for a workout at AMP or Gym, right? It still made me walk a little faster as I was making Jessica sprint walk and whisper to the door and no hug goodbye, I hated to do that!!

I met St. Christopher at Hawaii Spa, he was coming out of the shower, I was headed in. Of course he had the better looking girl. A co-worker of mine took a vacation to Bangkok, Thailand, and spent time in a massage parlor there. He him humed @ about his experience, then he asked me if we had any places like that in Texas. Of course, I took him to Smile and introduced him to Holly. He has never been the same.

I can't imagine popping your amp cherry with Holly. That really would be a life changer.

I guess that if I ever ran into anyone I knew at an amp it would kind of wierd, but at least we would share the same secret. I do have a job that would cause me big problems if they knew, but at this point in my life I don't really care that much. Running into a stranger is no big deal. We're both there to partake in the forbidden fruit. But I can understand that some guys are really self conscious and maybe feel guilty about what they're doing. It looks like most of us on here who do this a lot really don't give a shit.

I did meet Torito a few months ago when he tried to jump my appointment with Sara. LOL. I thought that it was cool that she felt good enough to introduce us to each other. I remember he asked if we wanted him to stay around and watch. (I'm pretty sure he was joking!) Anyway, I'm not quiet that comfortable yet.

Actually, I had that time scheduled and I was there before you called. Your schedule was tight and mine was not so Sara and I agreed you could "jump" my time. I have a feeling that was not all you jumped. I know I did later.

BTW What makes you think I was joking? Now you will be wondering. LOL

I prefer to just see ladies when AMPing. The few times I have bumped into dudes, I've tried to be cool about it..but it's just akward. If I drive up and see some one making a b-line for their car, I usually pass the lot and do a u-turn so they can escape in private with dignity!

I remember a very long time ago ASPD days. A few frequent posting members of the AMP section" heavy posters" got together at a Fridays or Hooters, I can't remember now. Anyway it was really different to be able to put a face with a handle. All in all they were a good group of guys back then. I guess everyone went different ways.

Never. I ran into a fellow hobbyist at a "spa" in Mesquite on Saturday. He nodded at me, I nodded at him and we went onto our respective business. No big deal

Ah the good old days, our "ringleader" moved on from Hooters, probably got bored with the talent there.

obviously the girls try to prevent the "assidental encounter", i find it amusing when they peek out the door to see if the coast is clear.

me i'd just give the polite nod and move on if it's someone i didn't know.

by the way Roman, remember me prankin' ya at Hawaii? i'd spotted your roller in the parking lot and was in the kitchen chattin' while waiting and i actually called your cell phone right as you got back to your room. LOL. after trying to waste several minutes of your valuable time you caught wise when one of the girls started laughing and asked "where the hell are you?" and i busted up laughing and said "in the kitchken waiting on Lilly .." haha! that's Lilly of the "famous lips" for those of you who might know what i mean.

now for a slightly different but related topic - several atf's have told me many of da Dallas Cowboys frequent the AMP's, no one famous like Romo or anything but quite a few. also heard the edited by Chipper to remove name. been spotted at a few amps, has anyone ever encountered anyone famous?

not sure if this constitutes "outing" so if the mod squad feels it is we'll just have to keep it to ourselves!
