The only problem I see with people giving MPA gifts is that not all of them are mentally balanced. So instead of thinking of the gift giver as being special... they'll consider that the norm and look down on other guys who don't offer them something.

My regular MPA bought me a gift last year... I got her a birthday gift this year.
I see nothing wrong with giving a small gift as long as it is nothing more then you would get a normal friend or associate... you can develop friendships with a few individuals in this biz.. I left town and I still keep in touch with a few MPA's.. the fact that we keep in touch with no $$ involved means something. just because you respect and get along well with someone doesn't mean you think they are your girlfriends. I have no problems with those who do not want to get close to an MPA. But to those who don't mind it and can keep things in perspective what's the big deal.
