Hi all
Sorry about the delay in replying!
Wow, all the wonderful responses and resources! I just went to Target today, in fact, for the first time in a while! Apparently we're not having the same sheet sale, but I DID find a couple patterned percaile (200 thread count...is that good?) for $11.99! (And we were advised in school that patterned is better, ks it hides stains/wear & tear better.) I picked up a couple sets, but I still have a spot in my heart for jerseys lol
I've got my husband looking online at Massage Warehouse as we speak. We're fixing to go to Ikea, too, as we JUST got a new one built right down the highway from us! OH...and for all y'all out there...we searched on Amazon.com for jersey sheets and we found some! They're like $10 per set, and they don't call them jersey, they call them something else and I forget what....but even though they're all solid, they were a great deal, shipping on the three sets came to JUST over $7, and we didn't have to pay any sales tax (which in TX is 8.25%)!
Maestra, you rock
You can holler my direction anytime you see a good deal on sheets!
Thanks for the tip, TX-gal, we actually did switch out EVERYTHING to natural formulas (free and clear of all scents, even natural scents, wherever possible). We switched out laundry detergents/bleaches (and eliminated softeners), hair care, soaps, even dishwashing liquid and other housecleaning products. (It was both for eczema reasons and also to get away from companies who test on animals. Also, it helped our household become MUCH less toxic. Unfortunately it didn't seem to have much effect on the eczema (except for when I switched shampoos to one--a Jason product line--that does NOT have the "SLS" ingredients in it. SLS is a caustic irritant, and practically ALL shampoos have them, except this stuff.)
However, I DO notice a few things after what has now been 2 yrs of trying to nail this thing down: 1) I'm extremely sensitive now to tomatoes, garlic, and onions. I can't really ever have them much, ks I start itching like mad! 2) I HAVE to drink at LEAST a half-gallon of water, or I start to itch a little and the patches that do open up don't heal as fast. 3) Must watch the temper. It sounds weird, but stress and attitude/outlook have much to do with this and I imagine other physical conditions as well. 4) Must eat plenty of veggies. If I don't my skin goes to hell. Rash, mild acne, you name it. And 5) I noticed that if I scrub my hands with pure distilled water after every massage, I'm much better off than if I don't. This is because I react to a lot of ppls' body chemistry, especially if I don't wash *right away* and it sits on my skin for a little bit. Just some info in case anyone else is going through this condition too. I heard MTs are at higher risk for eczema.
Thanks, too, to whomever recommended the Boston Jojoba website! That Hobacare will REALLY be a boon to us! Pure unscented totally-natural jojoba extract....mmmm....no smelly sheets, itchy skin, or greasy clients.... That was a beautiful, informative website! It'll really save us--time, money, sheets, etc!
Anyway, thanks to all of you, and if anyone comes across a sale or resource, feel free to post or PM me, I'll keep checking back! (Shopping is SO much more fun when you have a clue as to where to go and you know you might be successful lol.)
Blessings,
~Jyoti
