I agree. Losers in presidential elections never make comebacks like Guy Lafleur, Gordie Howe, Mario Lemieux, or even Brett "Favour". Look at Hilary, Michael Dukakis, Gerald Ford, John Kerry, and many others.

Although Clinton was nicknamed "the comeback kid", that was Arkansas, not Washington.

Never tried again because they knew better. Why waste so much money and effort when you know the inevitable. People don't realize how much money it takes. Fund raising efforts and time would be a total waste. Even for a municipal election for city council there's a fee just to register your name on the ballot. What's the point in trying again anyway? They ended up losing because the people have spoken. Why would the people suddenly change their opinions after 4 or 8 years of someone else? The only time it happened in the last 50 years was Nixon.

There may be an untold reason why Drumpf is distancing himself from Pence. There is a possibility, and I would not put it passed Drumpf to try another Nixon fiasco, telling Pence that if he stepped down, to pardon him. .....and Pence refused.
