After all your hucksterism in promoting spas, you expect yourself to be renowned genius in how our economy works? What message does it send to the Canadian public when a spa attendant/owner gets to earn thousands every month and then use that to buy condos/houses (in many cases to expand their own business) while the average middle-class Canadian working in regulated industries can't afford to buy a house even in the suburbs? The government is clearly embarrassed (especially in the middle of a trade war). It has come to a point now where there are over 12 spas operating in one intersection?! You cannot possibly compare restaurants and plumbing companies to the amount of income that these spas are generating through under-the-table activities. Customers are paying $160-$200 on average per hour (with each attendant entertaining at least 4 customers per day - and there are perhaps half-dozen attendants per spa)!
But that's okay - because all good things come to an end. Don't get me wrong - I live in a city where Olivia Chow is the mayor (and she's a respectable lady). But the situation in the East Beaver Creek area is a tragedy. I see East Beaver Wellness now has reduced to 3 attendants today. Are you in panic mode, krayjee? How's retirement looking for you?
