I have a new client coming this week who says her left leg hasn't moved laterally in, she thinks, two years. She has a whole bunch going on--pain that sometimes radiates down the left leg and that sounds like sciatica except that it seems to originate in the mid-thoracic (?)...and corresponding pain in the left shoulder. I met her only briefly but saw that her alignment is extremely off, but I'll be able to document this much better after assessing her. I've asked her what exercise she's been doing or not doing, she says none for a couple of years or more, and now when she tries to do any it's too painful. She's pursuing Egoscue, which sounds like it might be a very good assist. But...
I wanted to ask what you might know about why the left leg's not moving--could it be something as simple as extremely tight adductors? Or incapacitated abductors? I haven't heard of this before.
Thank you!!
