I don't want to just casually contribute to this thread as if I'm in agreement with the openly racist remarks being made in it, so let me openly say that I couldn't disagree more with those comments. The irony is that folks like Stripfan and Anontoronto share a philosophy with those they are racist towards. Both think skin colour is a basis upon which to judge a person. One of those things that would be funny but for the sadness of it.
Back to the issue at hand. People don't think for themselves or question and I guess they're accountable for that, but worse is the media. They know what they're doing. Every time you hear a "journalist" spout about how we can no longer "afford to be objective", you know they ain't no journalist--they're just a masquerading activist. I hope someday someone will attempt to catalogue just some of the more extreme examples of the damage that's been done by the slanted "reporting" the world has been subjected to in the last few years, but I fear it would be too big a job for anyone to take on.
Do we hear much about the rise in murder rates over the last year in many major American cities? New York, L.A., Chicago, Washington all of these have seen double digit increases in murder...and guess which groups are suffering a heavily disproportionate share of these deaths? Yup, but those black lives apparently don't matter. It's enough to make one despair of human nature.
