Male clients

Do any other therapists have trouble of there partner's when it comes to treating male clients?
as my husband is being funny over it and no longer wants me treating men.

It would be the other way around for me, but no, my partner doesn't have any issue with me treating women, though I can imagine she may dislike it a little more if I were to take up doing massage or some other therapy that's more hands-on. Thinking about it though she's never had a problem with me doing Reiki and that can be hands-on.

Perhaps you just need to sit down with your hubby and ask him what issue he has and whether you can come to some agreement over it. I imagine, underneath it all, it's his own fear of losing you to someone else, or fear that you may not be safe, so perhaps he just needs some reassuring words from you.

No, my partner has absolutely no issue with me treating men, and when I worked at a spa, I treated quite a number of men. I wouldn't not want to treat men because then I am cutting out 50% of the population for potential clients.

Personally, I have always got on better with men than women and I find that some male clients I can talk to for ages, once my hubbie timed me when a guy was there for about two hours but it was just that we clicked and got on so well, also I can never work by the clock, I just love chatting to clients, that may have its disadvantages but that just me

It is really your own deep discomfort/fear, doubt manifesting as hubby's disapproval. Sit and accept how you feel, when he stops you from treating men. It will change the energy within you and consequently within him. There are not two, not two- only one conscouisness.

I treat a lot of women, my wife has never had an issue. No one has ever displayed any interest in anything other than the therapy. Can't imagine how treating anyone can lead to anything.

Sounds like you have other issues that need looking at?

Well not really, no. My fiancé has got a lot of trust/confident issues and when I started the course (even just before) he was a little "funny" but wouldn't voice outright his concerns about it just seemed a little ....awkward. I did half expect it and he didn't understand what massage would entail and what to expect so in his head, he had all sorts of glamorous ideas from tv!

But after a while I sat him down and explained to him what massage was, that I don't go near any private area of any client (which I don't for this course) and went through what he could expect and how it's not really a sexual experience and for some people how they feel quite vulnerable in a state of being on a bed essentially naked etc, so it's not at all something to worry over.

After encouraging him to ask questions about it and answering them, he was completely fine with it and feels much happier.

If he is showing as insecure or awkward, just talk to him to put his mind at ease. Likeliness is that if he isn't voicing it, he knows in his head it's not the reality but can't quite get the worry to go away.

A friend of mine who wife was Thai had some problems with it, but that was more because some clients calling about a "Thai massage" waned a little extra! They soon figured out a system to filter out the bad eggs though.
