Bill Gates has hidden behind his philantrophy and a polite tone that he's used in interviews and speeches. This video is another example of that. Sounds reasonable? Yes. But with his visibility in recent years, stepping out of his lane, talking about viruses and overpopulation and even possibly finding a way to block the sun, it should no longer be any secret to anyone what a creep this guy is and the whole "harmless billionaire nerd" facade should never be taken at face value again. I posted the video only due to the fact that it somewhat relates to what Ursus brought up. Gates sounds so sincere in the video but for some of us who think he's a sociopath, he comes off as a ghoul.

Well, I'm holding my judgment on that. I've never heard the man say anything that's even questionable. I may not be up on the latest, but all I've ever heard about the guy is admirable. I thought it was a little strange to post a video where he's just making sensible comments as proof of his evil nature.

The box that contained the masks, sold in the stores, explicity said the masks were not for medical purposes.
The govt officials asked people not to wear medical masks.

This was never about a virus.
It was about control.

I have not worn a mask, ever, during the lockdown.
And I never will.

I have entered Costco and never worn a mask.
Ask Costco what medical order they are following by demanding people wear visors.

No medical order in Canada has ever stated that visors must be worn where masks can't be worn.
Costco can't point to one because it doesn't exist.

Costco has caused me so much heartache, so I return EVERYTHING I BUY FROM THEM.

When masks were first mandated, I complied despite my reservations about its usage and efficacy in certain areas. I wore them everywhere indoors or outdoors wherever required. I hated it but treated it as some tradeoff for our economy being partially reopened. I wore it out of respect for the small business owners I patronized and for the peace of mind it gave them. Sadly, the mask mandate did nothing to prevent a second lockdown. The armchair hacks' rationale for this was their theoretical data that things would've been way worse without the masks. Bullshit! But I still complied. Fast forward to the third lockdown and I see no incentive to continue being a useful idiot. And why would I? Where's the tradeoff for wearing one when we're fully locked down with no end in sight? The scum bags in the gov't and their paid shills masquerading as doctors told us it needed to be done to prevent another one and here we are 5 months after Christmas being told the exact same thing and going through "another one". In fact, we're worse off. Where is the motivation to keep listening to any of this crap when you know in a month or 2, we'll still be hearing the same pleas from these idiots? And please, spare me the stupid grandma argument because emotional blackmail is very cheap, sleazy and ineffective.

I only wear the face diaper when I truly feel compromised. If I'm in a crowded indoor space with lots of strangers like a convenience/grocery store, I'll put it on. If I'm swarmed by Toronto's endless supply of filthy, homeless cocksuckers, I'll put it on. If I'm around my smoker friends, I'll put it on. If I'm doing a hot work at home, I'll put it on. If the spas, barber shops and restaurants opened up, I'll put it on only out of respect for these establishments that I frequent and because a lot of my friends work in these industries. I no longer wear it in indoor spaces that are virtually empty because doing so would be pure theater. If an establishment like the Distillery District, which is run by a bunch of lowlives requires me to wear it even in the open air, I just give them the middle finger and walk away. It's time we drop the bullshit and apply logic to these guidelines. I now use the medical exemption loophole. It basically renders this mandate useless since any random shmuck can just lie about it. Tough shit.

I've been shaking hands and hugging people, including my best friend's 86-year old grandma since the summer and she's been perfectly fine since. At first, those were the only two socially unacceptable things I was doing during this pandemic but now, I've just started to continue living my life as I see fit because it looks like our incompetent government has no intentions of ever giving it back to us.

I've been congregating during this most recent Stay-at-Home order and security has done nothing about it whether it be me having more than 10 guests in my condo or me being the guest at my friends' units. Just look at the Toronto Music Garden in Queen's Quay last weekend! The park was packed. Most had no masks and practiced no social distancing. Everyone was just having a good time and ignoring the goofy bylaws because they realized their government lied to them. They were promised that things would get better with these measures and it only got worse. If we had a truly effective lockdown like Australia did last year, we wouldn't be acting with such blatant disregard towards all these arbirtrary rules the way we are now because we'd have something to look forward to.

The number of people taking their shots is increasing every week. If I see true change as a result of it like a full reopening and a loosening of the mask mandates, I'll get inoculated. If things get worse around the end of summer and another lockdown could be headed our way for the fall and winter holidays, then I see no incentive to get the shot. I'd feel duped if I took it and the worst case scenario played out.

I don't have a problem wearing a mask. It's mandating it that I take issue with because the idea of wearing it for others' protection or even yours is very complex. Not every setting presents the same dangers. That's why it's stupid to just come up with a rule where one size fits all.

To wear a mask in an indoor space that doesn't pose the same threat as another is pure theater. I only want to deal with logic. Screw the optics if they don't make sense. Inside a restaurant, you wear a mask. Does the science say you're safer to take it off when you're seated at a table? By the same token, how stupid would you look eating with your mask on? Every situation is unique to one another and should each be dealt with differently and with the use of one's own discretion.

The CDC came out with new mask rulings for fully vaccinated people in the U.S. and these same sanctimonious pricks are freaking out and still choosing to do what they've been accustomed to for the past year.
