massage cream question
No one's mentioned Sacred Earth-- the ingredients for their cream is:
Purified water
Organic aloe leaf
Organic sunflower seed oil
Octyl palmitate
Emulsifying wax
Vegetable glycerin
Organic extracts of lavender, calendula, white tea, German chamomile, and arnica
Sodium carbomer
Organic hemp seed oil
D-alpha tocopherol (vit E)
Phenoxyethanol
Ethyl hexyl glycerin
As someone who has made lotions and makes soaps, I would like to add that you do need a preservative when making a cream. Vit E and grapefruit seed extract will not work strong enough. If you're making it yourself and in small batches that you refrigerate it will last longer when using the vitE or GSE but I wouldn't dare sell or make large quantities of cream without a preservative.
I know of two sisters who make a fabulous body cream and they use polyaminopropyl biguanide for their preservative. It's what is used in eye lens cleaner, so it's gentle, but still a chemical. I like their creams, but it's not cost effective for the amount of work I do. I completely understand wanting to find something with no preservatives, but any product you find will have them that is sold to the general public.
You might find it better to just make your own that you can create in small batches without a chemical preservative.
