Massage Envy

Jen, our school did just that. There's a spa in the local area that our school told us specifically NOT to work at. I was wanting to work there (remember "Pat's"?) simply because I needed money, but I would not have liked it there at all. Not quite as bad as Massage Envy, in that they pay more per massage and they can give you about 5 massages per day, but they don't pay you for downtime either. *shrug* maybe some therapists would be happy there, as some hairstylists are happy with working at Supercuts. Just not for me.

I have to admit.  I love Massage Envy.  (I know I will get hate mail over that....)I have even sent a few patients to them.  But you know what?  They have all come back to me.  Many have brought back other clients from Massage Envy.  I have clients come in and tell me about "the new place with much better rates."  I tell them to go and try it, if they like it I will pay for the first month membership.  I still haven't paid for one....   If I ever have to pay for a membership, I will do it gladly.  Because a client that feels like that is a value they want is not a client that I want.

Sweatshop is the only word that comes to mind.  

 There are no ME's in my area, and hope never to see one.  No person should ever have to work under these circumstances.    hands4healing,I go along with those that suggest you go out on your own.   I say, do what is best for you and your career.Good thing that you like working for the PT place.  That must be a big help for you.  Good luck.

Big Dog,thumbs up on that one!  I have had one client go there while I was out of town and she thought it was horrible.  She said, It just didn't even come close!!!
