Mexican peso fluctuation

Well, tonight the rate is now 13.5 pesos against dollar. I would definitely exchange the dollar to peso when I get there. From my experience, most places including chicas take 10pesos/1dollar rate. For me, it doesn't make sense to pay 30% premium for the same service.

On second thought don't try to take advaneforum.xxxe of it too much. Before when the exchange rate was about 11 to 1 or a little less. The SGs would say $20 dollars and mongers would give the girls 200 peso instead and the girls didn't mind as it was only about a dollar and change they were being short changed, and it made it easy by rounding up to a 10 to 1 exchange rate.

But now the exchange rate is 12 to 1 and if an SG says $20 dollars and you try to slip her 200 pesos, you are only paying her 16 dollars! And I think SGs will start caring, so I would listen to her carefully when she gives you her prices, and I wouldn't try to short change her. And I certainly wouldn't get in a argument over a few bucks with TJ cops always close by and will take her side of the dispute.

It gets worst with BGs lets say she says $60 dollars, and you give her 600 pesos.....what you are really giving her is $48 dollars. Do you think she won't notice that?

Even before when the exchange rate was 10-5 or 11 to 1 some girls objected and I think it's only going to get worst?

I think you should take advaneforum.xxxe of it if you can. I have no idea why the dollar is looking stronger now. I would think with all this financial crisis the dollar would be falling? Perhaps if I have time I'll try to find out the reasons?

The Mexican peso seems to be weakening. It was over 9 pesos againt dollar three weeks ago when I was there. Today, it's about 12.29 against dollar. Now that's about 30 percent gain on the pesos !! It seems dollar is gaining against other currencies in the last few weeks with all this Wall Street turmoil going on. Now it would make more sense to pay in pesos in the zona. Or the price paid in dollar should come down. What do you think ?
