Tried Mermaid MP a week ago, my first try ever of MPs in Montreal.

Wow, you better do some reading around here before you continue going for massages.
$10 will barely get you a tickle at most places. Standard "tips", and I use the term loosely, are 20-40-60-80 for hj-topless hj-nude hj-thai. There has been a trend recently to try to eliminate the 20 level, but that works in most places, however they would certainly like you to take the more expensive options.
As for the shortening of your hour, lots of girls try that. They have nothing to lose. Sometimes you have to remind them that they still owe you x minutes and they will usually comply with a little more massage time. If you let them push you out the door, you might as well only pay for the minimum time available and get things done quickly and get the hell out of there.
