If the club has a nice vibe I do not mind paying 170baht for a beer, it just not an everyday kind place for me maybe one time a week.
Even if you drink 10 beers its still less than 50 bucks for the night unless you buy many drinks for the ladies so maybe 200 bucks then:yipi:

Looks great - hope it does work - without Geir & Trent been bit thin on reasons to go back to Phuket, but this looks tempting.

As others have said - comp drinks to girls and sensible drinks pricing to get off the ground and at last somewhere to finish off the vile concrete carbancle that is Tiger, dingy shithole Taipan and claustrophobic Hollywood.

very posh, very nice & up market too!!! on the 3rd floor at jungceylon..main entrance near the ramp that goes down to the underground car park..club buildup about 10,000 square foot..you will have to take a lift to the 3rd floor where it's located..

house, techno, trance are the themes..hip hop on wednesday nights..

from what i heard, DJ Dan from USA will be here for the opening..

beers starts at B170 for a singha to B290 for a kingfisher..cocktails starts at B200 for a gin tonic to B390 for a champagne mix..

they have a strict dress code..smart casual, slippers & singlets are not allowed..Mickey Mike is the guy to see...

Valet Parking - park your car with our valets. Then you can go elsewhere... but remember we have your car keys. So you'd better come back and have a drink!

Without the ticket stub from SOUND Phuket, parking is charged at normal Jungceylon rates - 10 baht an hour for the first 4 hours and 50 baht thereafter.

FYI now the ASEAN Summit has finished saving the world, SOUND Phuket closes at 4am.

Incidentally our drinks prices are the same as Bangla Road clubs, we have no door charge, very lax dress code and the best looking club on the island.

DJ Dan (voted #1 House DJ in the world) will be playing on 13th August... for this one there is a cover charge of 400 baht.

I went to this club last night and had a great time.

Music was spot on and the place itself is really amazing. I especially like the outside smoking area... fantastic view.

Its not quite finished yet (smoking area, men's toilets)but then it is not officially opened yet so that will change very soon I am sure.

Quite busy too with a lot of faces I know from around the island who frequent the other good bars.. Nine Bar, Stereo Lab, Soundwave Sundays etc.

So 10/10 from me, will definitely go again soon!

I just feel that there is not a lot of support from the local business community here in Phuket. Everybody likes to complain about there being no tourists here, yet when something good for the island happens???

Same for the opening of fashion week. It was a real shame, they had obviously put a lot of time, money and effort into it yet hardly anybody there?... I will be surprised if they have this event again next year!

I paid 250 for entrance ticket and 350 for a tower of beer. Sat there and watched some absolute stunners then listened to the live music afterwards.

The first band was excellent, a real surprise to what I was expecting. House music with a blind man playing some traditional Issan instrument to the beat! Was worth the 250 just to hear these play.

Come on locals, show a bit off support, stop putting everything down even if its not your cup of tea and lets get Phuket back on the map!

Hi All

I'd better introduce myself... Dave - GM at Sound Phuket. I've been on the site a couple of months now, but I don't think I've posted before.

To answer a few questions...

Sound Phuket is a new nightclub at Jungceylon. It's located on the entrance drive between Millennium Beachside and Millennium Lakeside.

It is owned and managed by Bed Supperclub in Bangkok.

It was designed by Orbit - same designers as Bed. Please check out the site SOUND Phuket | Welcome . The photos already posted here were taken inside the club last week (by me - you owe me a drink). We are about 85% complete.

We will feature top-name DJ's... Bed All-stars will be coming down frequently - Octo, Fred Jungo, Bangkok Invaders, Josh Ezelle, Emmanuel. DJ Dan from USA is confirmed for August.

We 'soft-opened' last Thursday without fanfare to give staff a practice run before Phuket Fashion Week. The official Launch Party is 17th July.

Dress code is as yet undecided. Shorts are definitely not banned. Wife-beaters/vests/singlets whatever you'd like to call them are not banned. Flip flops still under discussion...

Entry fee - currently there is no entry fee. Plus as it is 'soft opening' we are giving away free cocktails and food to give the staff practice making them. This offer finishes on Tuesday.

If and when we introduce a door fee, it is likely to be 250 baht inc of one drink. If we have a big name DJ we will probably increase the price for that night.

We will have a member card which will waive the door fee and offer benefits for local guests and regulars.

Car Parking is open late... with a stamp from the club.

We are open until 2am... later hours are under discussion with 'local people'.

Our target guests are anyone who likes good music in great surroundings.

We have 7 theme nights....
Monday is Retroactiv - Old Skool dance hits from the 70's onwards
Tuesday is Kinky Beats - sexy chilled out house
Wednesday is Jet-set - Hip-hop, R&B (also Ladies' night)
Thursday is Samba Loca - Latin Dance music
Friday is Ultra-sound - hardcore house for serious clubbers
Saturday is 'this is SOUND' - international guest DJs
Sunday is Bootlegs Inc -Mash-ups and remixes


I'm kind of rushed off my feet these days, so I can't check in on the forum every day. I welcome feedback, both positive and negative. However, please refrain from baiting or flaming. Sound is very aware that the business model for Patong must be different to the Bangkok scene.

I think the place looks great. I love Bed Super club in Bangers- my GF loved it too. I hope it works, but these are tough times. Is there a dining area or is it purely a nightclub? I would have no prob with singlets and thongs/flip flops being banned, but am glad to see shorts allowed. Just too damn hot for long trousers, especially when I am cutting some rug!!!!
It is expensive so members cards etc for expats would be great. Tourists will possibly pay these prices if the place is as good as it looks.

It's good to know the special event could get a lot of people to Sound. I know some others that made it out last night.

On the Fashion Week...it got some bad press on the Thai sites yesterday. Said they suddenly refused to pay the booked models their standard rates and switched from a chartered plane to a bus to get them down from BKK. Plus some of the labels did all their fittings, then lost the booked models, so they canceled. Seemed like fashion week was just a big joke. I guess it was better in real life.

sounds good and i certainly wish you luck. Directly addressing forum members concerns is a great start imo. But don't listen too hard, opinions are like arseholes - everyone has got one. And i don't really understand why someone "who doesn't go to clubs" feels the need to comment in the negative.

Dress code is usually very silly for Patong but i dont mind a smart casual code as long as its not formal shoes or anything daft.

A member card is also a good idea.
