New Tiger bars are open.

Went in Tuesday night. Sat at a bar ( Smiley Bar) in the middle opp. the lift well. It is surrounded by empty bars, none occupied behind.
Beers 100, mixed 150-200tb.
Hes having probs getting girls.
It was airier than the old Tiger with one sound system that played crap warbly techno.
The front bars were full of tourity type tourists in couples and small groups.
The disco upstairs will have its front 'cut off' for a large bar and restaurant ( maybe) now.
Upstairs again should be 20+ st rooms....

Long term, I dunno. Theres bars with cheaper rents empty in every Soi....

Just didn't seem to be as many people on the beach and the fireworks didn't seem as non stop as usual, Just my opinion though, we booked a room at the holiday inn for the night, to lazy to drive back to chalong and was very handy for the young fella to crash out.

I was at the OTOP last night they're putting in 11 more bars 750k plus 25k a month each. One of the back older bars is for sale 650k most of the bars are very quiet.

Jeez - I can remember looking at them at 5000 Baht/month rent!

They seem busier in Low Season with all the Oz package tourists lodged in the nearby hotels.

That's because everyone was in Pattaya =) I couldn't move walking down Walking Street, there were so many people it was a ****ing nightmare. Had to been at least 150k people out on NYE there.

Was certainly quieter than last year on the beach and fire works wise.
Although they were pumping in OTOP when sun went down

Well, I must be a newb because I thought it was pretty crazy. Can't even imagine what crazy is like if that was tame.

Well we got down to Patong Beach about 10pm and for 2 hours there was a constant flow of fireworks across the bay with 15 minutes of madness on the hour. I thought it was an excellent showing. Maybe because of more families visiting these days there are more fireworks let off earlier for the young kids so not so many at midnight.

Bangla road was nigh on impossible to walk down on the way to MTB due to the people traffic coming off the beach. The bars were definitely lacking in customers compared to previous years...
