New to Stone Massage

Let me clarify something  :-[ - the roaster is set to 250, but it's not actually that hot.  Him and I have the same roaster.Don't worry, you can indeed put you hand in there for the stones and it won't burn anyone.  Everone's different when it comes to heat sensitivity so of course you need to be careful.Hope this helps explain myself.  I have to give hot stone massage in an hour, so I'll take the temp. of the actual water when the roaster's at 250 degrees.  I'm kind of curious myself as to what it will be.I'm not that nutty, I swear!!  I'd never hurt anyone, including burn them. :'(

(I put this thread in here, because of this particular post: "So sorry to hear that you are suffering from the very thing that we all dread! I had an instructor who has been using hot stones for at least part of most massages that she gives. She had been having major hand/wrist problems and found that the stones enabled her to do deep work without the pain. Just something you might want to consider looking into after you get healed")

New to Stone Massage

8) I love this modality...the stones should only be heated to 110f...I use a high sidded griddle I got from a yard sale since most of the roasters get to hot...I bought one set from amazon.com and the other I got from conair...the conair heater and stones work well and do not cost that much...both sets came with layout instructions...though I have been trained in stones it is still great to have extra info on hand...

Hi,Just an update!  I just got done with that hot stone massage, and the actual water in the roaster was 110 - 120 and the roaster knob was set to 200 - 230.  My client was happy with the heat of the rocks and the effects of the massage.
