Newbie Question on US hotels

Remember Sunday afternoons are very bad for crossing back into the US...so it would be wise to stay at least until 7...but 8:30 or later would be best.

You might want to go around 1pm and scout around, just realize that with each hour there will probably be some new chicas showing up at any given bar...so don't be afraid to check back later.

IMHO 1pm is too early for you to hit the Zona becasue most chicas are "sleeping it off" during the morning and early afternoon. There won't be much of a selection until late afternoon/early evening.

If you're arriving in San Diego at 11am my sugesstion is to first take a nap. Then head for the ZN. The later you can stay in the Zona the better selection will become.

If you do arrive early then check out Adelitas Bar. There are usually chiacs there most of the time. There will also be some street girls in the alley. But as the hours advance the selection improves substantially.

Last question.

I plan to arrive to san diego around 11am on a Sunday. If I get to the zona around 1pm on a Sunday (and i plan on staying until 5-6-7 or so), will there still be a good selection of decent girls?

The problem is that San Ysidro (the U.S. side of the border) is a dump. It doesn't have any first rate hotels/motels. The best hotel/motel within walking distance of the border is a Travel Lodge; many mongers use it when they want a place in the U.S. that's close to the border.

To stay in first rate hotel you'd probably need to get a place in downtown San Diego and take the trolley to/from the border.

The Best Western Americana is a decent/quiet hotel in San Ysidro and it's only 2 miles away from the border. They have a free local shuttle or you can use the 929 bus to get back and forth from the border or you can rent a car.
I don't think there's a hotel closer to the border other than motel 6 types.

The trolley runs all the way to the border so you don't need to rent a car. Go to www.sdcommute.com for trolley info.

ok... I've never been to TJ, but I have a trip in late Oct to SFO to be there on Tues. I'm thinking of routing my trip through san diego on Sunday and visiting TJ sun afternoon/evening and then flying from san diego up to SFO on Monday afternoon.

Question-
I dont want to stay at a hotel in TJ. I am looking for a decent hotel on the US side that is close. Any recommendations? Also, should I look to rent a car once I arrive into San Diego to get to the border?

Looking forward to it. Was in Costa Rica in September and not sure if anything can beat that, but I'm willing to give TJ a try!
