wow, you were out in the boonies there! I used to fly down to palomar airport a bunch when I was training and palm springs too!
lived in poway for a bit!
you ever do any white water rapids? - i did at the american river. both north and south forks. good times!!
lots of hunting in lancaster, palmdale and bike runs up to kern river..
but your really close to roasrito beach / tijuana area.. you ever go there?

Spent a lot of tme I the Ansa Borrego desert ,avoided Tijuana area worked at the power plant at the Salton (dead)sea. Used to go to big Bear lake a lot when I was in San Bernardino great apple pie place in Barstow.Hortensicias cliffhanger restaurant on the way back was always a great spot fond memories there with a few women.

Nice... big bear is a good place. Lake arrowhead too.
I see that the Dead Sea is your backyard. Can’t say I’ve been there but a lot of other places. When I was learning to fly, would fly with a few girls to Palm Springs or Catalina Island for lunch dates. Buffalo burgers! ha ha.
or rent 20 foot bayliners and boat over to Catalina
Feeding the flying fish that followed us. The swells can get pretty big in the afternoon sometimes.
And of course, surfing all up and down the coast! From Malibu to San Onofre. Have golfed so many courses across LA too!

I bet that hortenscias cliffhanger was a good food place!
