He w@nker...... You don't tell the whole story and you sure put it out of perspective. Nobody tried to rip you off, it was simple a human mistake. And after you told the person who made the mistake it was solved directly... without questioning. People like u who make dumb accusations are not needed on this board. When we were in Patong for the Kings Birthday, we both wore yellow polo shirts out of respect and had several favourable coments from Thai people.

Respect doesn't cost anything (well, they were Lacoste fakes for 200 each!)

Also, when we went up to BKK, we went to the cinema to watch Casion Royale. Now, having been caught out in the past we remeembered not to get comfy till they played the national anthem so we could stand for it.

There was a farang and his Thai GF sitting in a row in front of us who did not stand up for the Anthem. When it was finished, a Thai girl nearby us went down and had words with them!!

Usually I am in pants nice Polo shirt so on....... But the one night I show up in a t shirt swim suit, unshaven, and jet lagged, the BGs took me for a school teacher. Of course it didn't help my legs were white as a ghost.

Thanks for all that input guys.
I am going with two pair jeans for any places that might call for it.
I am going to bring my own cloths as all my gear is quicksilver and billabong gear and from Bali and as Lol said it has been great quallity gear. I have gear that is 3 years old and going great plus tones still in packets since I go so often. Bali has heaps junk bintang cloths and hot tuna and hang ten that is all on thin cheap junk shirts but if you hunt about or know the bosses like I do you can buy top shelf cloths and I pay $3.20 Au for quicksilver top shelf shirt.
So I will go with surf wear and jeans when needed over there.

i prefer to wear what i wear at home, nice shirt and jeans, and thats what im comfortable in

Not having much experience in the kilt department I would say lightweight drinking would be the way to go.

One of your fellow countrymen who is a member here has been known to sport his kilt on occasion.

If you want attention, wear it, if you want a quiet time, don't. Also, remember the lightweight ones still weigh a fair bit in your baggage allowance :happyi:

I dont usually like to wear the shorts an tshirt at night and leave that for the daytime , i prefer to smarten up at night with jeans and polo neck or nice t shirt of if im feeling really snazzy a slick shirt
