At this point, I'd like to check in and see if NavelGazer is reading this thread any longer. The very first reply was by Mush, who provided a link for "No Hands Massage." Looking through their website I found a page that had links at the bottom to some free downloads:

The free download called "The New Massage" may give you a good enough introduction to decide whether or not you want to purchase the textbook, entitled "The Principles and Practice of No Hands Massage" (also sold on the same page).

Fozzyo then gave an excellent description of No Hands Massage and shared his experience with incorporating this technique into his professional practice. (Thanks Fozzyo! t023 )

So now I'd like to ask NazelGazer to please reply if you're still reading this thread and let us know if you have further questions. Also, I'd be curious to know why you're interested in a "no hands" technique? Do your hands hurt ? Are you just interested in trying something new?

If Nazelgazer doesn't answer, I vote we just let this thread fade away.

fozzyo.....I have been interested in this No Hands Massage since I saw You bring this up in previous posts where it says "No Hands Practicioner". Thanks for the explaination.....It is only taught in the UK? I am interested, but don't know when I could just up and jump the pond to the UK...Please respond and thanks again NavelGazer for this clearing up thread!!!

At present it is only taught in the UK, there are only a handful of practitioners around (I think the figure will be around 150 - 200 now).

They structure of the training has changed slightly now, the initial training is a three day course - usually held in London, Manchester or Yorkshire. The dates for the following year are usually available from the website, or if you call the office and ask to be notified when news ones are added they'll drop you a mail.

This three day course teaches you the Seven Postural Secrets (Hara, Falling, Sole, Flow, Support, Kneeling, Shire Horse) and strokes for the back, neck and shoulders. The Practitioner course teaches approximately 70 strokes, the Advanced course only about 5 but really shows how to make your massage much more powerful and helps you build your skills and understanding of No Hands Massage and massage in general.

The initial training course (Transforming Touch) can be quite large - just look at the pictures of some of the latest courses but there is a commitment to have one trainer for every twelve students. So during practice one person helping six therapists with six clients.

"No Hands Massage"

Hey, Fozzyo . . . I am a CMT and newly registered on the MassagePlanetL forum.

I hear you are the "resident pro" t041 on the "no hands massage" and am wondering whether it is possible to learn enough from the books offered online to at least try the techniques with clients.

I have been having some hand/wrist problems recently and am wondering if this might be something I should really look into.

I think the courses are still only taught in the UK and I don't see me hopping over there in the near future (though I would love to) -- in your opinion are the books -- without the actual course -- worthwhile?

I will admit that as a petite massage therapist, I already use my forearms pretty extensively -- and yet I am experiencing the numbness/tingling in my hands every night. Is it possible I am doing the forearm moves incorrectly? Rubbing people the wrong way? :
