We need a drug to cure the illness. Cannot have a vaccine for the whole world within a short period of time. Merck is having a 3 stage trial for a drug that can cure light sickness due to COVID. Hopefully will be ready before year end.

SARS-CoV-2 variants of interest have been associated with increased transmissibility, neutralization resistance and disease severity. Ongoing SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance world-wide has improved our ability to rapidly identify such variants. Here we report the identification of a potential variant of interest assigned to the PANGO lineage C.1.2. This lineage was first identified in May 2021 and evolved from C.1, one of the lineages that dominated the first wave of SARS-CoV-2 infections in South Africa and was last detected in January 2021. C.1.2 has since been detected across the majority of the provinces in South Africa and in seven other countries spanning Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania. The emergence of C.1.2 was associated with an increased substitution rate, as was previously observed with the emergence of the Alpha, Beta and Gamma variants of concern (VOCs). C.1.2 contains multiple substitutions (R190S, D215G, N484K, N501Y, H655Y and T859N) and deletions (Y144del, L242-A243del) within the spike protein, which have been observed in other VOCs and are associated with increased transmissibility and reduced neutralization sensitivity. Of greater concern is the accumulation of additional mutations (C136F, Y449H and N679K) which are also likely to impact neutralization sensitivity or furin cleavage and therefore replicative fitness. While the phenotypic characteristics and epidemiology of C.1.2 are being defined, it is important to highlight this lineage given its concerning constellations of mutations.

I'm vaccinated but this i don't think is right of the government to push on people, it's essentially forcing you to take the vaccine, which really makes me question what's the true motive behind this. I've never seen any vaccine pushed so hard on the population, even with SARS and other pandemics in the past it's never been like this.. holding a database of vaccinated people and requiring proof to essentially live a normal life is fuckn crazy and is what life in china has been like for the past few years

… u have freedom2 do what u want w yer own body… but so does everyone else… we can arbitrarily decide that shirts, shoes, basic hygiene, absence of offensive symbols…. all required b4 u visit many places.. incl a spa.

Another lock down would crush the enconomy even more than it already is.

I was in a chat for a political debate and someone mentioned from his personal experience working in the health care sector in China, that they are given "conventional" vaccines and not mRNA (vector based) which are relatively new by comparison.

Too bad it’s ineffective…. Chinese mpas who got Sinopharm shots rush 2 get our shots when they arrive back.

… Seychelles & Bahrain fully vx their ppl using Sinovac b4 COVID hit… then opened their borders… & got pandemic!

… TBH, I don’t trust inactivated virus 2 produce immune response… nvr worked in other Corona Virus vaccine attempts…

What China does well = social control… lockdowns 2 stop spread… & make ppl STFU when their vx doesn’t work & ppl die…

… it’s prolly about as effective as flu vx… like mebbe better than nuthin…
