Something I use as part of my hand wellness routine is I Ching balls, also called Chinese medicine balls or Boading balls. You can see what they look like on this site if you've never seen them http://www.themodernreligion.com/health/balls.html and get a short explaination of their believed benefits. They come in different sizes so if you decide to get a set or two for yourself, start with a smaller size if your hands aren't large. Every night when I exercise, I spend time manipulating the I Ching balls. Using them really seems to help the tension and soreness in my hands, thumbs, forearms, and arms fall away faster.
