I treat people as they deserve... If they complain about everything like you do, i say what i feel about it. If im wrong, i am the first to admit it and apology, but so far i cant recall being wrong in any case. (Maybe some other BM can enlighten me regarding that....)

I hope we wil not see these same lame overpayers complaining that Tuk Tuk prices are increasing, or that Patong is becoming too expensive, or moaning about the cost of their flight? because surely they can afford it with their dollars or it is only a few dollars per mile to get here? feck its their holiday after all, so it must be alright!!!! Heck the woman in the shop was really nice looking, so it was perfectly okay for her to double charge me for my teeshirt!!

Last time I was in Phuket I stayed in Karon (at a very nice hotel for only 4k per night at the excec floor). A tuk-tuk was only 300-400 baht each way for a 10km+ ride. That's about 25% of the normal cost as I see it.

I do admit that most tuk tuk drivers are a bit less courteous than the taxi drivers I am used to; again most of those drivers are from India. ... Funny, whenever I can get these taxi guys to quote me a fixed fare it always ends in .99

Don't you just hate when people are haggling over the price, especially when it comes to a lady.
If they give me a reasonable offer and I am attracted, I'll take it .... and that is 99% of the time.

Agree with you Steve, In the last couple years the prices have gone up quite considerably. Very rarely would you have girls REQUESTING 3,000 baht yet alone 5,000.

You pay them 3 - 5K, they tell their friends and it's a vicious cycle. Pay what the general market is paying. In 3 years time you'll be b1tching about them REQUESTING 10,000 baht long time.....

I remember 2 years ago when 1,000 long time was normal, now 1,500 to 2,000 is being considered cheap charlie.....

It is certainly not my intent to be derogatory to any member here.

I simply try to be positive and in this case try to give as much info as I can. Is it not a fact that expacts who engage in the p4p would be likely much better informed about p4p than occasional visitors? Is it derogatory to state that one would like to see more info from them? Nobody is demanding more info, I was just stating I would like to see more.

I don't know you personally Billpay, I understand you are the owner of a Hotel and I do not know if you engage in p4p or are even willing to state such things. But assuming for the moment you do I would love to see some frequent info from someone like you who lives there all the time.

Hey! I, and I am guessing others here are advising people on the board what to pay, it's not pushing prices up for us here. I pays what I pay and have not had a girl leave in tears yet with the money I have given her in the morning!

Yes, week after week, year after year, people ask on the forum "How much should we expect to pay" - If we mention a price and then those people chose to quadruple it.........Fine! It's thier wonga. I can't and am not going to argue that one. It's like the taxi from the airport is around the 600 Baht price, you give him 1K and say keep the change. I go out out with around 3K in my sky rocket. I eat, drink, buy smokes, buy lady drinks and if necessary BF from that and still have enough for a tuk tuk home.

If someone 'on holiday' wants to go out with 10 times that, blow it and still have to visit the ATM on the way back to his hotel, who am I to say he's doing something wrong! He's having the time of his life!

What I don't like then is people coming on here saying Phuket isn't as cheap as it was when I were a lad................Course it bloody isn't, especially if you are going to dig deep everytime one of the girls flutters her eyelashes at you! It can turn out to be a bloody expensive holiday!

I happen to like the 'more seemingly genuine' cuties in the Soi's as opposed to the 'Perceived falseness' of the Go-Go's girls. I know I am probably that girls first customer that night. I don't worry about the 10 blokes queuing behind me, it's the 10 blokes that have been in front of me that day with the so called 'stunners'. Then again, I don't worry about that too much either! 5555555.

It's not, as you say, 'us' who live here wanting others to pay the first price asked for, we are saying, after being asked, what the going rate is, then if, those folk wish to spend more on the same, up to them.

OK so it's not a large amount of money 4-5000 baht but the thought of someone treating you like a fecking idiot because you have money does not in any way make for a good time in my opinion.

And by paying exorbitant rates like you do you are ensuring that that process never changes.

No more lame than the i have lots of money and can afford to be treated like a rich dumb ar*e by a BG scenario.

I did a calculation of what it would cost in the US to have 2-3 ST per day, plus an LT and the numbers are seforum.xxxgering. Whatever the cost in LOS, it is a bargain.

Good post Denver and 100% correct, i don't live in Phuket until the end of this month but over the last couple of years i have spend between 6-8 months of the year there and got to know lots of BG's, i have been with the same lady for 2 years and don't take girls from the bars for S/T or L/T, but have noticed that when the girls get to know the people that live there or spend alot of time there the 4-5000 baht prices and 1000 baht barfines don't seem to be asked for, i can honestly say that until i read this post and 1 on another forum a couple of weeks ago i had never heard of girls asking for these prices....
