Phuket Rocks!!!

Just wanted to change the tempo and report that I LOVE Phuket. It is an awesome place and a great change from BKK which was just another big city. I am soaking wet and gotta go shower to go out again but I love this place! People are awesome, the nicest people, no matter where I go. Not at all in your face even on the bg scene. Phuket Town is like a dream come true wall to wall hot asian guys! I completely prefer Phuket Town to the west coast it is so much more asian which is sooo awesome!!!! Can only say good things about the place and the people!!!

Did make the big mistake of going out today in only a white cotton dress but it was a blast! Thai Mardi Gras right here in Phuket!!!

Glad you have found it too your liking.. I wondered if the BKK / Pattaya bit of experience was guiding your impressions.. Even the worst of the places are not that 'in your face' IMHO..

Been getting different opinions all day.. All in all I am pretty knackered now but just had some hot food (first of the day) and an hour off should see me through the night.. You in Patong or Phuket town.. If Patong, try Cocktails and Dreams and under Tiger, will be there in an hour..

I have to agree with Livinlos.

Had a feeling Eurogirl would like Phuket as the people are great and it's not so ''in your face'' as BKK and Pattaya.

Enjoy Songkran, it's a lotta fun....just don't swallow water and get sick like I did.

I will try and ignore you geespot..as I had the misfortune of walking by your sorry glaswegian bar...already been in Patong...and had a blast!!! In the 5 days I have been here managed to meet a ton of hotties and am loving the nightlife and just like it here!

Butterflyblonde, LivinLos, yeah it is totally different, my fear was that it would be a big Pattaya where you cannot go out, male or female, without just being mobbed by flower sellers, or bgs who seem to pop out of no where and just jump onto the street etc. It is much more normal in Phuket, sometimes you can't even tell wich ones are bgs. I still prefer Phuket town but that is because I like asian men and prefer a more asian crowd.

I do understand about the impact of the Tsunami, that is why I am here to do an article that will hopefully bring back tourism to the area. I adore the people in Thailand and my heart breaks for them on many many fronts. If you read the entire thread and not just hand-picked which comments you were to answer you would see that my comment, far from being racist as glaswegians aren't a race anyway, was in retaliation for comments made by geespot for which he apologised and I subsequently apologised for that post!

When I am in Patong next I will try and pop by geespot.

Tintin, I think you need to think before you write. I never insulted Thai people, Phuket or anything about this country. I was not even particularly critical of the bar scene until I was flamed over and over and over...if you read my original postings I was worried about having places to go that did not revolve around p4p scene and based that desire on how nasty I found it in Pattaya.
