Glad to read you are enjoying Phuket. Assuming my assessment, of what I read in some of your posts, as to your night life views was correct, I sort of suspected Phuket Town would be of more enjoyment to you than the beach(es).

You may find it of some surprise (and then again, maybe not), many male and female caucasian tourists, indeed many expats, never make it to the night clubs in Phuket Town. Its a shame, as its a different scene from the clubs and bars in Patong, Karon, Kata and the other beaches.

As one poster pointed out, the "problem" with Phuket Town, typically is the drive back afterward. Especially if one is staying in the beach area.

The weather has been fabulous the first couple of days in Phuket, and I'm enjoying my stay as well.

Thanks void, am headed to the beach myself as it is my last official day off monday back to work! I am staying in Karon and quite like it but had I known how much I would like Phuket Town I would have stayed there. Been to Patong and it was ok, nothing scary like Pattaya but Phuket Town is my place, wall to wall asians mostly with just a few farangs so I prefer it. Most of the Thai friend I have made so far live in Phuket Town as well so it is easy as I can crash if I have to. Also went out in Karon and had a great time, it is aa good mixed crowd.

I think I feel better today as I see that my powers of perception are still working, I had asked you on another thread about writting..seems that was rather correct after all.

I'm not pointing it out as a negative, It just makes sense with the way you have gone about the board, but no worries as it sounds like your getting things more or less sorted out. Less is more in some venues.

One thing is for sure, you surely know by now that emotions run high with regards to the board members and our relationship with Thailand. I personally would not classify this board and the majority of the members as typical. We do have a lot to offer when it comes to insight and experiences.

I believe that G has a huge heart when it comes to phuket and the people and while you might draw one conclusion from the board you may draw another by being around him.

Anyway, good to know that your having a good time...so how long are you planing on staying??

allybaba and malaysian, are you two still at it? Nobody else is, if you haven't noticed! I will say, the average age in Patong is somewhere around 40, so not so many "young virile" men from the west malaysian, but I would understand why allybaba would have to come to asia with that attitude, though I do not think he would get any further here, without payment of course.

Heywood, I do love Phuket and the people as well. Last night was at Planet with 8 Thai friends it was great! I really love Phuket Town it is just perfect for me and exactly what I was looking for, a mainly Thai scene with plenty of cute Thai guys of which I am meeting tons! I will make my way back to Patong at some time this week and will try and pop in to see MaiTai and Geespots bar as well. Probably won't be until Friday as I do have to work again this week, unfortunately!

I can understand how Thailand can make an impact on anyones emotions, I am already thinking of things I can do to not just come and do my job and leave, in othe words would love to do something that could really help the people, not just in Phuket but Thailand in general and because of some recent personal experiences, Myanmar also. I think people in SE Asia are exceptionally generous and kind hearted and deserve more from the world!

If you met Malaysian you would realise he is a true gentleman. As for Ally he is a young man beyond his years. He is fun loving and in my opinion there is not a bad bone in his body.

You have now been in Phuket some time, why not come and meet some of the board members. I think you may be pleasantly surprised at human some are.

I really should get over to Patong again, only went twice so far, problem is that I am kind of addicted to going out in Phuket Town, just LOVE it! In fact, had I known, I would have probably gotten a flat over there instead of this side of the island. But I will make my way to Patong again I hope perhaps this week sometime!

Isnt it time for you to start to be a little bit cooler? All this shit that is posting is quit boring, and mainly your attitude against Patong first, and now the BM`s here.

You took a huge u-turn when it comes to Patong, what will happen when you meet BM`s....

No Tarzan, never took a u-turn because if you did read and not jump to conclusions you would know my stance was not against a city it was against a certain type of scene and I was basing my opinion on Pattaya...which I said was my fear of patong. Still not a place where I would want to be on a regular basis as I prefer all thai scene or mostly thai I should say, in Phuket Town. As for the bms---to be honest you are the only one I seem to still have a problem with and you annoy the hell out of me with your petulant behaviour and petty comments.
