When i 1st posted on this site kloymaie, Only a couple of months ago i asked the very same questions as you and when i finely got to patong every place and everywhere bms told me to go i forgot straight away, Because the stunners are everywhere and one of the best things about my trip was exploring all the bars myself and finding out about the place myself, Thats where the real fun is, At the end of the day everybody has there own tastes so just because somebody thinks the girls at one bar are better looking than another does'nt mean you will, For instance there's one bar called the kangaroo bar and a lot of bms think the girls in there are stunners, Well i was in there twice and i didnt see any, So each to there own, And dont worry you'll know what i mean when you get there Have a great trip mate and make sure you drop into the mai thai bar when your there and ask for nicke if you need any advice he's your man, good luck.

Yes I know you are very right about this I will shortly after my arrival from BKK take a walk and let my nose give me the way...
I will not be in Patong before around 4 Pm, so I guess there is not so much activity at this time...

Yes, thats a COW. Maybe the same one that was sick and your favorite TG requested money for. Really, because TG don't get fat by nature. In order to get like that, they're really got to pork out. Now I have done all my bookings and have chosen the Patong Villa.
Two days in BKK and 12 in HKT… Then back to BKK for another two days…
I am really looking forward to come and enjoy myself like in the good old days…
I have another question to your…
Is it dangerous to walk alone in Patong by night and do I have to worry about being robbed of? How can I avoid this…?

No more so than in anyother tourist area around the world. The same rules apply as if your at home or anywhere else for that matter, you need to be aware of whats going on around you, and don't do what I see so many other farang do, openly showing large sums of cash being carried.

If you stick to the main bar areas at night, you wont encounter any problems. Don't go wondering around down the beach at night by yourself, and don't be taken in by any con stories either Thai or farang. Its all common sense stuff.

Don't be too worried about things, and just have a good time.

I would echo everything SteveM has said , its all common sense , things like putting wallets into back pockets of jeans and trousers , why do guys leave themselves so open to pickpockets ?? they must be crazy !!
Keep to well lit areas & more importantly where there are lots of people around if you are going by yourself & you should not have much too worry about.
An old mate of mine used to go NEW YORK a lot & as you probably know , that city has got one hell of a crime rate (before that mayor took over & cleaned it up bigtime anyway)
Point is , he used to carry 2 wallets , 1 which was easy to access in case of muggers with small money inside & a few shitty un-usable store cards to make it look real & another well hidden with the 'real money + cc's etc..'
This can be applied anywhere you go in the world , like steve said its just using a bit of sense , I'm sure you will have a great holiday , dont worry , just enjoy your time there

Nice trick with the wallets. Never heard of that one before.

Patong is very safe. But there are some strange ones that hang out around the beach at night. However, when people get so blitzed that they don't remember anything about the night before, that's when they might wake up missing money or have a lump on the head. In my limited experience, I have found the farangs to be a lot more dangerous than the Thais, because some farangs are very aggressive and hot-headed when drunk, and occasionally even when not drunk. Thais seem to be more cool, more under control, and when drunk are "happy" drunks. Of course, as has been pointed out before, never start trouble with the Thais, because although they are very peaceful, if a farang starts the trouble, then they will finish it.

I may say that this site is really educational. I have never heard about the wallet trick before, but it seems to be a good solution to avoid losing your cc´s and money…
Also thanks to the other answers I guess that its all about the have some common sense and not get to overexcited and forget where you are a the present time.
Now I am looking forward to go and see what Patong has to offer now a days and relax myself from a hard and stressful everyday.
I think I will bring all this writing with me to read in the plane and sure go and visit Captain Kirks – anyway I will not pay 3000 for a BG there, but just look
Still I will try to find this amazing big one – oh I love a big and broad ass…
I will love to hear anything more about where this bombastic TBG are located…
