Police Crackdown on Patong Bars

How I wish it was me in that bar, unfortunatly I am stuck in wet Perth (well today anyway) just longing to get back there.
Oh and if I was there i doubt I would have been out in a bar at 7.36 pm, that would be just a little bit early for me, I think it was more like 9.57 pm when I used hit the streets and about 12.36 am before I made MTB.

Oh how i miss it.

Btw, what time do most pubs open at the Sois? I always start to drink early, it's a habit for me, and since the time difference for me is only 1hr, i keep to KL time. So i am usually KOed by a lil bit pass midnight.

You make it sound like they are employed and on a salary. They work on commission so make nothing unless they get someone through a door into a gogo...hence their aggressiveness. Most annoying thing is they are spreading like a cancer. There used to be just the group at the end of Seadragon...now you get hit by them the moment you step onto Bangla.

The 500baht thread is still going but the moderators have moved it.

Yeah, was a bit early. I wanted a photo of Bangla before the skies got black, but the rain sort of changed my plans and I ended up spending half an hour trying to stay dry inside Burger King waiting for the rain to stop before I could leave. As I recall, I was heading down Bangla to go clean up at the hotel before dinner - lobster that night as I recall. The streets were all wet, making nice reflections, but it was too dark to hand-hold the phone, so I held it up against the pole to keep it steady.

I'll try Friday night to get a photo around 10:30, using a real camera that still works reasonably well in low light. I won't have any free time until then. If it's dry, the photo should give a reasonable idea of how crowded it is (not) now.

a 2am bar closing wouldnt keep me from going on holiday there
i will say if i was 20-30, there would be no way in hell i would ever consider going on holiday any place that has closings at 2am though

Change a bar girls sleeping patterns hey... 555555! Why don’t we stick to simple things like mid east / Israeli relations or fixing global warming! They won’t change. They have not changed one bit. They only thing they do different is whine about no customers. I have spoken to a bunch and they don’t even consider that there is anything they can do to make things better for themselves. They just wait till things get better (or worse).

Didn't Baya only ever push things to about 3am? Or was it 4am? I thought they did ok after about 12 and wouldn't be hurting as much as say Tiger that got most of their trade after the bars closed and the girls moved on.
