On the stretch of Beach Road between Bangla and Club Banana, there are some weird hookers that work the street. They are mostly not good-looking, but very aggressive. If you were shit-faced drunk, you could make a mistake. Also on the same stretch in the trees along the beach some strange LBs hang out, and sometimes pop out at you and solicit when you are walking by. Sometimes they will hassle you a little, especially if you are rude in spurning their advances.I'm not down on LBs, if you want one, you should go to a bar. There are a few who are crazy and can get aggressive or belligerent.
Actually, even w/ the girls, you take a little bit of a chance when you pick one up on the street. If a girl can't get a job in a bar because she flunked a HIV test, she might end up on the street. And altho I don't know of any cases, you could fall asleep and wake up and find the money from your wallet and your watch or camera gone, and not know where to find the girl if she ripped you off. Unlikely to happen, but could happen. I once picked up a LB, but didn't know it(I asked, she lied), and it ended up in a very violent fight, when she was asked to leave my room(she wanted $), but wouldn't. When I attempted to escort her to the door, she/he attacked me. Kicking, swinging at me, It got nasty, had to kick her ass.
So, if you want to beat the BF, and aren't into the disco scene, start at the Rat-U-Thit end of Bangla at 2:00. Head toward the Beach Road and there will be loads of BGs leaving the bars, headed towards Rat-U-Thit. Check them out as they walk by you. See one you like, approach her, ask her where she is going(Bai nai?). She'll ask you where you are going. You say, Bar, Restaurant, Dragon, Hotel, or whatever, and ask if she wants to go with you. Then somewhere along the way, when you are making conversation, ask what bar she works at. If she doesn't work at a bar, think twice. If she says she works Banana or Tiger disco, she is A FL and is probably OK, but make sure she turns in or shows ID at the desk in your hotel if you want to be on the safe side. Usually, you can trust your instincts, but an ounce of prevention, etc. Doesn't hurt to be careful.
