So a few months ago I asked a girl out (we'll call her girl "A"), she turned me down. No big deal.

Couple of nights ago I saw her ("A") and her hot friend (who we will call girl "H" for hotness) at a party they walked up to me and we started having a nice chat.

In the end I asked her friend out ("H") for drinks and she accepted.

Girl "A" made a scene about it and called me classless for asking "H" out.

I know the REALLY classy thing to do is go for the 3 way, but was I really classless for asking out "H" in front of "A" ?

The problem here is that once you express an interest in a girl, she thinks she owns you. It's her prerogative to reject you, but she will forever hold the option accepting at a later date.

Also, as stated, it was A who was classless in her reaction, and even more so to do it in public. IMO she did you a favour by saying No. You now know what kind of a person she is....

It makes you wonder if A was playing hard to get? Doesn't excuse her behaviour but her game came back to bite her in the ass. I have a saying: those who play hard to get, never get got (and they blame us for it).

I'm curious: how did H react to the tirade? Are you still on? If the date is, and H is still interested, that says a LOT about her (that maybe she's worth your time and effort for hopefully she sees A for who she really is...).

Talked to "H" this morning. We are going to a NYE party together tonight. So its still on.
Got text from "A" this morning asking what I was doing tonight and I told her. (And no I didn't say "I am doing "H") Received a profanity laced reply.
Whats really funny is that "A" supposedly has a BF who no one ever sees.

I say this because I've had more than a couple of NYE dates cancel on me at the last minute. There was one where we thought it'd be awesome to share our first kiss at midnight, start the New Year with new possibilities etc and then at 10:30 as I'm on my way out the door (dressed to the nines I might add) she calls me up and unceremoniously says "thanks but no thanks". That isn't the worst, the worst is she actually thought there was nothing wrong with doing that.

I'm not one of those romantic types and haven't built this up any beyond just hanging out with friends.
And if she cancels on me what the big deal? The party is still happening!

In my case it was HER party and she invited me along.....

The killer in my example was: I had 3 or 4 invites to parties and didn't get the info because I had made plans with her. When she cancelled I tried to get in touch with the invitees to no avail.....

I've known a few girls who like to play hard to get. When I never ask them out again they ask what happened and I usually say that playing hard to get the wrong way classifies you as hard to want.
