Reflexology for someone trying to concieve

Hi Caroline

I really feel for these older women trying to conceive, I'm sad for your client, but at least she knows she can conceive.
The reflex must help her on every level. Supporting her emotionally, especially as she is now in a new job.

That L5 link is powerful. I'm almost surprised when clients stop talking and seem to 'drift off', just how well it works, but I haven't had anyone become emotional when using it yet.
Trouble is I'd probably join in, not very professional. How did you handle it.

Forgive me for being vague, but is L5 directly beneath medial malleolus bone? I have tried the linking, whereby I touched pituitary on big toe and linked L5 (same foot) or should I have worked on opposite sides ie hold pituitary on say right foot and touched L5 on left foot?

Some people have "issues" with becoming pregnant. Therefore linking techniques, such as sense of self (second toe) with the ovaries, uterus or solar plexus can be a big help in getting them to accept themselves and their role as mothers. I recently successfully treated two women with infertility issues, one of whom had a history of recurrent miscarriage. I felt strongly that she was scared of becoming pregnant (hardly surprising). So I linked her sense of self to the solar plexus and ovary on both feet. It felt like the thing to do. She's now 16 weeks pregnant, the furthest she's ever got, and has started to feel her baby move.

Personally I would concentrate far less on the uterus than I would on the endocrine system. Perhaps Glynis or another midwife could explain, better than I, the role of the uterus as compared to the rest of the body during pregnancy and in pre-conceptual care.

Presumably you are a reflexologist.

L5 is the fifth lumber vertabra. It is therefore at the lower end of the spine which can be counted down the inner edge of the foot from the big toe (i.e. 7 cervical, 12 thoracic, 5 lumbar, etc...)

Hi - thanks, that is what i thought but is the uterus reflex not directly beneath the malleous bone, or is this a different school of thought?
