I have a wide variety of CD's I use.

For something a little more contemporary I like [link=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004XN2T/]Simplicity Two Thousand[/link] by Afterlife (available on the Hed Kandi label) - very nice and mellow with some lovely vocals. Also another modern album with good vocals I actually bought from a Malmaison hotel - www.malmaison.com. If you stay in one of their hotels when you go into the room they have a beautiful CD playing you can buy from reception, I have the 2nd one and intend to buy the 1st and 3rd when it comes out.

For something a little more spiritual 100,000 Angels by Bliss - www.blissfulmusic.com

I also have some lovely Classical compilations that I like to use occasionally. [link=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00006JOAJ/]Classic FM's Smooth Classics for Rough Days[/link] is very nice, I have selected a nice group of tracks and put them together into my own CD. I think John Williams' Hymn to the Fallen from Saving Private Ryan is beautiful.

Also I have found [link=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00000GV5D/]Incantation[/link] by [link=http://www.timwheater.com/]Tim Wheater[/link] can be really nice, however the order of the tracks needs to be tweaked a little and a few left out for a massage in my opinion. I hope to get a few more of his albums.

For a nice 'ready to go' CD try the [link=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004WKG9/]Healing Massage[/link] CD from New World music. They also do a [link=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00000DLWH/]Reiki[/link] and [link=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00001R3MK/]Aromatherapy[/link] CD amongst others - most of which composed and performed by Llewlyn.

Personally I have found that with the expectations of the clients and the therapists finding good quality therapy music is not an easy task.

ignoring personal prefference until later, as someone mentioned Fridrik Karlsson's range is excelent as a general ambiance creator and I would also heartlily recommend it for teaching classes as it is non intrusive. The mind body and soul series from NWM is also very good though I tend to find that all the CD's are very much the same and are not particularly geared towards the individual therapies.

I also recall someone mentioned Tim Wheater, If your a fan of him or like your music mellow, classical and with class then pick up "In unity" where he performs with david lord.Excelent for Energy and physical work.

Llewelyns Goldseries has some merit covering a wide range of therapies and I think he has his own label now though I am not sure what that is...

Comming back to something I have mentioned in other posts though.Medwyn Goodall (AKA midori) has formed a Supergroup with his own artist stable called Namaste and they seem set to really storm the therapy music scene.I'll keep the explanation briefor this will sound like a plug but from what I understand they have a Therapist as one of the producers and are creating a "True" series. I have the Reiki one which is really impressive and the IHM one is due out soonish... possibly one to watch.

in my personal mix though (as like many I make my own complations) I have the following

Enya - Lolthlorien and Alderbaran (great for aromatherapy)

Useful thread because I have just spent about two hours listening to therapy/new age music samples on the net and still couldnt find anything that I really liked. Agree with the comments above about a lot of new age CDs sounding like lift music.
I tend to play bonsai garden (midori) and IHM by Llewellyn a lot, as they are just the right tempo for the therapy treatments I do, but I'm getting bored sick of them. Anything by LLewellyn is usually OK. His CDs tend to sound a bit samey, but at least there's not much in the way of piano playing.

A good artist is Llewellyn - Reiki Gold is lovely - nowt to do with Reiki itself other than a slight pause every 5 minutes (for those that do 12 hand positions in Reiki).

Nice but non-descriptive which is great if you need to concentrate on anything BUT the music.

Personally I prefer to do treatments in silence

I bought two boxed sets (4 CD's in each box) of Classic FM's Smooth Listening - they are brilliant, and all my clients love them. It beats listening to Classic FM live - by the time I've heard the same advert 4 times, I'm ready to through the HiFi through the window!

When I work up at my retreat for two solid days at a time - I find that some relaxation music makes me lose the will to leave so I have started to give myself a lift as well and I've gone for Sergio Mendes and Astrud Gilberto (played at a low volume). My clients have mentioned how comfortable they are with it and it's like being in an open top car on a sunny day driving around a coast road! Suits me!!!
