Ring the bell?

I once offered a LD to each of the ladies in a bar (6 or 7). Was told to ring the bell and about 700 baht late, business done.

I hate shots so I am not big on bell ringing....will do it for a wedding or birthday or special occasions tho....last one was in Hells Bells a few weeks ago for Joy's Birthday (owners GF).....but it was late in the morning and I knew everyone in there......stuffed if I am buying drinks for guys I have never spoken to and probably never will!....and would never ring an unlimited bell with a crowded bar......that's for pisssed guys and newbies

I used to always ring the bell in MTB on my first night of holiday and on my last night, now living here don't ring the bell anymore, no first or last nights!!!

However, would ring it for aspecial occasion, like Dman getting a round!!

Hi to everyone as its my first post here although I've been lurking for a long time.

When I was in Angeles City in PI I rang the bell (fixed price 5,000 Pesos) and not only did I get my name on the wall but every girl in the place (around 50) lined up to kiss me. Some were more enthusiastic than others. LOL.

I think this is great policy and perhaps should be imported to Thailand.

I've been to a number of places in the Phils with varying degrees of prices and fun.

The best fun I've had was in Angeles City (about 2 hour drive from Manila). The girls are not so high quality as Manila but IMHO a lot more fun and the bars are way more relaxed. A girl for the night from a gogo bar will set you back around 1,200 pesos for barfine of which half goes to the girl. In the morning you can tip her couple hundred pesos if she's good. But you don't have to if you don't want as she has already been paid out of the bar fine.

This Bell ringing thing sure can cost a lot.. I always check before I ring but on the last two occasions the "cost" agreed was not honoured. The conversation went soemthing like this:

Me.. "How much to ring the bell"
Mamasan "1,200 baht"
Me .. Ding Ding etc Bill comes.. 3,600 baht.

Me. "Hold on you said 1200 to ring the bell"
Mamasan.. "Ah but we need three bottles of tequila.."

No answer to that..

My only excuse is that perhaps I had misunderstood.. I'd hate to think I was just taken for a ride as another dumb tourist..

I have only ever rung the bell once, and that was at MTB on my May tour. This last tour i only ever carried 200 baht on me down on Bangla just incase i wanted a beer and a pack of cigarettes.

Ringing the bell is not something i really see the need in doing, but each to there own. For me i'd just rather buy the people i am drinking with a drink.... Does that make me a git tho? 5555555555
