This year, the exhibition was called Mioge 2007. Next year it will be Neftegaz 2008 and it will be from June 23 to 27, 2008.
It basically serves the Russian market, but it starts to attract wider interest every year. There are also entries form Japan, China and Korea.
Also the whole exhibition is getting larger every year too. If you are interested to go, make up your mind prior to March 2008 and make sure you book your flight and accomodation well in time.

Well, as I was asked for and I promissed, here is a small TR on my last stay in Moscow last week. Usually I go there now once a year. In the past I went more often and my first trip was back in 1989.

The main reason was to participate in the Mioge (Oil & Gas) exhibition and I was one of the two co-organizers of the Dutch booth. All together we had 7 Dutch companies in our team plus a nice bar, which was sponsored by Grolsch, one of the better Dutch beer breweries. The gave us the bar itself, some free barrels of beer and 2 nice girls to fill up the glasses. I will post some pics in the next few days.

Most of the evenings we had to entertain some customers, but last Thursday (my birthday) some business friends organized a party for me at the Boar House. A nice restaurant annex disco. Played good music.
Only during the later hours a lot of prostitu*es appear. Then the conversations go like:
Girl: Hello, what is your name?
Me: Nanook.
Girl: Where are you from?
Me. Holland.
Girl: You want to have sex with me tonight? US$ 500 for one hour.
Me: No thanks...

So very direct and not really the nice kind of style like in LOS. The same goes for the Nite Flite, which Ub2yoo mentioned before. But most of the girls in the Nite Flite are really stunning.
On Friday after the exhibition was finished, we visited some places like Paris Life, The Hungry Duck (where they have elevated dancing platforms where the people (= girls) dance on. In the old times and on certain evenings the were stripping there too).
The last few hours we spent at the Karma Bar, which is more like a lounge disco. Really a nice place, but quite expensive. But then, nothing is really cheap anymore in Russia. Moscow is now the most expensive city in the world.

On a general note, I can say that the average Russian girl is more feminin than their average counter parts in western Europe or North America. They still pay attention to their looks and clothing. Not only for going out, but also when they go to their work or shopping on Saturday.
But still I prefer the cute Thai girls and especially that one lady in particular.

Hey Nanook, cheers for the TR. It confirms exactly what I've experienced. Can't understand the hype around russians, too expensive, too complicated and too overly pimped. Not much fun left really. And yeah, Moscow really is expensive. I saw a documentary last week on TV about the shift towards mortgages, where locals now finally can own their home...but interest rates from 10% up.

Crazy country. Would be interesting to see what Paulie has to report back after his visit.

Yeah, I agree. Although there were a few girls that would fall in the category "I would like to have breakfast with you in the morning". Also you see many girls who are so tall and slim that you can't even see the nice female roundings anymore.

It is a crazy country, but also I still enjoy it during a week like this. My colleague and me had a good time. But very expensive. Also hotel rates go crazy.

And no... I didn't take her offer . I had the idea of countering it and offer 500 Baht for a ST. But she wasn't worth it really.

in regards to your observation, you couldnt be more right. Actually, most women except Erurope and No America do still dress nice. In Vancouver,you have to see the way the Asian girls dress just to go shopping. Always dressed to the nines
