Sample Voicemail Greetings
I have two voicemails, one for business hours and one for after hours.
Business Hours:
*SMILE* "Hi, this is Angela Judy with A Nurturing Touch Massage & Bodywork. I am most likely with a client at the moment. Please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible. Thank you and we look forward to treating you!"
After Hours:
*SMILE*"Thank you for calling A Nurturing Touch Massage & Bodywork. Business hours are Monday-Saturday, 9am-7pm. Please leave a message and your call will be returned when we re-open. Thank you and we look forward to treating you!"
(smiling while speaking on the phone helps to emit a friendly and welcoming tone)
Usually our therapists answer the phones, but if one of us are unavailable we have a stay at home mom with well-behaved children to answer the lines for us, and if we miss a call and they do not leave a message we return those calls as well.
On another note, I just wrote a script for us to use when answering calls and am happy to share it! Here's a link to it http://www.charlestonscmassage.com/script.html
And yet another note, Pueppi, I just read your article about answering calls. I got to the part about using a cell phone that doubles as a personal line and thought I'd share this little nugget with everyone! I use http://ringcentral.com for my business line. I can forward calls to the cell phone of who ever is playing receptionist at the time(and no matter who's phone it is forwarded to, they still get the same voicemail message). It gives a prompt when you answer that says "Hello, you have a caller. To answer, press one". This way I always know if it's a business call! It also allows me have multiple voicemails, for business and after hours, and even temporary holiday messages, so I don't have to record over the regular one! It is a fantastic service! And to answer the question you asked back on 2009(http://www.massageplanet.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=16451&p=150153&hilit=ringcentral#p150153 ), they do allow you to use your already established number! I did not know this then.
