i would only add (remembering the best laid plans theory...) that sometimes the process is a lot faster than your list

on occasion you have little time to sit/drink/get tipsy before you realise you are being treated like the piece of meat that you are !!

just chat/drink/leave when the time is right for you, i sometimes go out for a fast ST at 2200hrs and then relax for a few drinks after that and, being now relaxed, take my time choosing another ST or a LT for that same night

Many hotels charge a joiner fee for any overnight guest you bring back.. This may range from mild (200 - 300 baht) to extreme (3000+ baht) depending on how much they wish to discourage nightlife / ******s.

To be sure you dont end up paying lots of joiner fees find a 100% guest friendly hotel. Guest frendly means they will have 0 charge for any overnight guests (and that means 2 3 or 4 otherwise its partially guest friendly).. They may take the guests ID but thats actually to protect you against theft etc.

Well said eric - I am the same as Nanook and I send money to my g/f of 15 months whom I see every couple of months (every 5 weeks at the moment) and I have no problems with the arrangement, nor do I ever worry about what she is up to either as I am confident enough in myself and our relationship - some guys have been burnt and some haven't..................you pays yer money and you take yer chances.............I have and its been worht it.............however if it ever did go 'pear shaped' then I'm a big enough boy to "move on".

Thanks Les and Erik1. You exactly wrote how I feel.

A few BM's may know/have seen my GF. For me all that matters that she and me can have a good life together in due course and Buddha permitting! So far, so good.

I never had and will have any problems with sharing my experiences on the board. There are many stories of success but also of failure. I think I took some wise lessons from those and maybe some other people can learn something from mine. Isn't that also what this forum is about as well?

As long as one is open to learn and take it step by step, it should be fine. As long as you know when to hold them or fold them. Wasn't there a song with a line like this?

I was not trying to insult him I was trying to help him. But you are right i do not know his gf so i should not have giving him unwanted advice. As for me i am not unfortunate. I have a thai gf that i meet in Issan working in a shop and i see her 4 times a year and stay at her village with her family. I have offered to send her money but she says "no no me hab money you save money come back quickly Thailand me want see you too much". And every time i leave she offers me money to make sure i have enough to buy something to eat. But i will admit when i see her i take care of her and the family very good.
