Hi!
I basically wrote what Blisss suggested below. You have no idea how good that felt to send it and make that boundary firm.
You would be surprised at how many fellow practitioners who I have as clients respected this and acknowledged that they need to do this in their own practice too. And you would also be surprised at how much the clients who go over, know they are and like getting all that time and attention without paying for it!
:
This is what we came up with in here. Feel free to change the wording around to suit your issue. I had a client lay on my table for minutes and then use the bathroom, chat etc. I get those too. These are the people I need to get the message across too. I had one woman actually ask me if I had some food, said her blood sugar was low and sat down to eat and talk.
Amazing.
But it's my fault really, I backed myself into this corner.
"Recently, I've been blessed with an increase in business. One side effect of such a blessing is that my time & energy reserves are being pushed to their limits. This means I need to plan my days accordingly, to be sure I can be energized and fully present for every client.
Although I enjoy our conversations before & after appointments, I now need to limit such conversations to 10 minutes before & after appointments. If you have questions that require longer conversations,
I'm now offering mentoring sessions at $__ for a 30 minute session & $__ for an hour session.
If you would like to add a mentoring session to your next appointment, please let me know."
