As you can see from the debate that has raged, opinions on this are pretty polarized. So don't take my word as gospel!

For me, once women here find out that you are a regular SE Asia tripper they label you anyway. I said in one of my earlier replies that I answer those sorts of questions, why do you go there etc, as 'women, cost of living, climate and food'. And leave it at that.

No one has ever asked me the mechanics of how the P4P scene works and I have not volunteered the info. I show everyone my pictures from there, even my mum, and answer the 'who's that?' questions as 'a girl I met' or 'my temporary girlfriend'

Having met many BMs and travelled in Thailand extensively I find this label ridiculous and atypical of general tourists.......its a derorogatory term full of all sorts of grubby sordid loaded imagery..........which is there to pigeonhole people into being seen as undesirables

Do people who go to Ibiza call themselves sex tourists........do people who go to a nightclub call themselves sex clubbers or to the pub sex pubbers or does the guys who joins a book lovers group call himself a sexgroupbooklover ..........no.............but to some their main reason for going is to get laid

As I've said before, I think, the first time I went to los a few years ago, was with friends, one of who had been before. But i went for a holiday as I had no idea about the pleasure's of beer bars. But of course I ended up/was forced into spending a night with a girl.

But I suppose i went back the next few times with the girls in mind. But the thing is each time back since, I sleep with less and less. So much so, that last time in nearly 3 weeks, I only slept with 3. So it must be the place and people (Singha), that i go for really!

I came on here to declare that i am definately not a sex tourist but just been thinking and my whole years holiday breaks consist of 2 trips to Thailand 2 short breaks to Hamburg and a short break to Amsterdam The prosecution rests its case ma lord.

seriously i have to admit that the main reason i first went to los was for the girls and i was just as big a butterfly as anyone on maybe my first 5 visits but now coming up to my 21st visit my whole outlook has changed i have a regular tilak who i am happy with, so dont go chasing the bgs too much anymore although i have been known to be seen entering massage places in daytime 55555 and now i mostly go for the sun ,drink, and the friendship which i knew in Pattaya and now have in Patong I know some bms are into visiting the islands and other sites but to be honest i did all that on my first 6 tours now give me a swimming pool or a beach some cool beers my tilak and the company of some like minded bms at night and i am as happy as a pig in sh-t

If you tell them you had the best New Years vacation of your life and your mates were the main focal point NOT the woman do you think they will believe you? Hell no. One of the strange things about England is that the media are incredibly xenophobic. Anyone who has been to Asia recently must see that the balance of economic power is moving eastwards and while the European Economies are faltering, the Asia continent is booming.

Personally I feel sanctimonious pity for those people who cannot see beyond the channel or Europe. Hard luck.

I have a great time in Thailand. I enjoy the free and easy life style and the laid back attitude to sex. Yes I enjoy being considered "handsum" and sometimes the carnal pleasures of a night with a hot girl. Yes it has made me think that most farang women are neurotic tubs of lard and not really very good at sex. Hard luck.

If you mean 'are you a sleazy old pervert like every newspaper in the UK says you are because you go to Asia and shag young girls' then the answer would be **** off and find another forum I guess.

They might be a perks, but if the girls were not available, would you still come here to “party with your mates?” or would you go some place else?

Given this is a forum entitled ‘nightlife’ and set within a region of prostitution I do not see how it is the least bit provocative to ask right off the bat if BMs consider themselves ‘sex tourists’.

The term ‘sex tourist’ is a broad category, encompassing both responsible and inhumane individuals. I see no reason to be ashamed in being a sex tourist so long as one is responsible. If someone asks if you are a sex tourist, why automatically assume that they are accusing you of some perversion unless they specifically state that?

I agree it's a nightlife forum which is open to all, but for me personally I get enough snide Thailand remarks at home and it looks like others do as well.

I'm not trying to be precious about this, I'm just intensely aware of what the UK media means when they label someone in such a way and there is absolutely no way I will voluntarily point myself out like that.

I don't need labels to know who I am, and I don't need anyone trying to pin one on me; I get enough of that at home.
