I'm suspicious Greenwood....you didn't mention the Espy, Luna Park or seeing a live band (Boomtown Rats maybe?) at the Palais Theatre?

Pablo....If it was sweet sailing all the way then I wish I had half your luck....I have a similar story but the word "starfish" features a hell-of-a-lot and prominently if I go into the details.

After that I concluded there is value in finding a girl who has a good work ethic matched with the work experience to do the job properly.

Used to use the Espy for lunch on a Sunday (had to pay to get in), as they did not have normal Sunday Opening hrs at the time.
Saw Madness & Bad Manners at the Palais Theatre near Luna Park, and saw Simple Minds, Tears for Fear, UB40 and the Style Council at the old Earls Court (think the Novtel Hotel) is on the old site.
Did not see the Rats though

Kept out of the Prince, as at the time the total lack of women not drinking in the pub used to give me an uncomfortable feeling.
It look like it has changed clientele for the better from what I hear now.

I also made the fatal mistake of visiting the George Hotel (opposite Junction Oval) one night. I lived to tell the tale, but did not make the same mistake twice.

That pub is now an English Theme pub called Elephant & Wheelbarrow....packs them in...Friday and Saturday nights....lot of Backpackers and Tourists as well.

From the Phuket gazette following the tragic accident

"In addition, the Social Security Office has paid compensation to the families of 18 deceased passengers and crew, including three of the five cabin crew and both pilots. The families of those who died during normal work hours were paid an initial amount of 100 times the minimum wage, or 19,100 baht.

The pilots’ families will also receive monthly payments of 12,000 baht per month for eight years, equivalent to 60% of the 20,000-baht wage ceiling over that period.

Families of the three dead cabin crew will receive 5,400 baht per month for eight years. The families of both pilots and crew are also eligible for a collective total of 79,456 baht in funds paid into the social security retirement fund.

Yet the tilacs need 60k a month to survive- 3 times what a pilot was on!!!
