Singha beer used to be 6% alcohol and has quietly reduced it to 5%. I read that it had something to do with alcohol taxes (I don't know if that is the reason), but I have to say that it just doesn't taste as good anymore. Used to have a heavy-ish malty or barley taste but now it is thin and watery, not at all the same in my opinion. I didn't think 1% would make such a difference!!
I also wonder how it will affect domestic sales, I know most Thais drink Leo or Chang but surely reducing the alcohol level doesn't seem like a brilliant strategy.
Anyone else notice the change in taste or is it just me??
Cheers, Robaht
