You'll be fine on the tourist tracks. Worth it for the food. Try not to carry a bag or backpack at night if you can help it. I witnessed two motorcycle bagsnatches while there.

That aside, incredible places, food is the best I've had and generally speaking the people are as warm and friendly as you'll meet anywhere in the world.

Cheers man, appreciate the feedback, might not fit it in on my June trip but might put it in there the Octobers one, as will be stayin a little longer... How did younfind the comparison with cash there, I know it's supposed to be cheaper, but theres cheaper and cheaper, dont get me wrong, cash is no problem, and wont be a reason for going, just enquireing..

Guys, any idea if the prices of massages and go-go girls gone down recently? There were stories in the media about "huge discounts"... I wonder how true that is? Situation with economy and jobs in the main tourism markets of Thailand (EU, US, AU) is getting seriously messed up so it would be surprising if there's no adjustment yet.
