I used to quite like that pool bar opposite SW1 guess its gone now.
Looking at the photo Deano, am I right in that the greedy beggars expect to lease a series of bars upstairs?
If they are going to do this they had better think of something worthwhile for the punters to look at downstairs...555

Yes mate, there must be 20 bars in a row up there.
I think if the rent were cheap enough, and more importantly if they had made it wider with a walkway and with only one set of stairs or escalators at the front, and one at the rear near Kee Plaza, it may have worked.
Instead, every two bars upstairs share a set of steps, sairs that also block any flow BETWEEN the downstairs bars. Thus Mossimo, the owner of Mickey Mouse 1 and 2 , and facing each other, only retained MM1 after the reno.
He has kept Monica Bar with pool tables, opposite SW1s that u mentioned. ( See Ramblings for his tribulations.)

Luckily for me, missus doesn't like Bangla either, but does enjoy Sunset Plaza, a regular drinking haunt of mine as a few of you know, although might have something to do with the fact she's working in there 55555

I like the "new" Soi Seadargon. But I guess it's because I got my first 2 LTs there just a week Now it's always a bit of a thrill walking down wondering if I might run into one of them.

Good thing about new ssd is looks like it's got rid of lot of the go go touts now on bangla road.

did not see any on bangla road tuesday night, maybe the soi is to well lit for touts to follow people and make out they brought them to the ago go and theres the other way in ssd from beach road.

as others have said to many stairs for upstairs bars and no through routes from one side of soi to other.

the bars may have got boring in there but the ago's in the soi have vastly improved in entertainment.

Sunset Plaza? Is that the southern end of town which includes the Blue Coral Bar, Dolphin Bar, etc. When we stayed at the Amari, we called in there on our way to town and sometimes didn't get any further than that. Nice atmosphere and friendly bars.
