Oddly enough since moving in I have been with the same regular... I cant get the little welder out... Shes up for a laugh though and fairly game on when nights get wild..

Of course there have been a couple of parties she has been banished from.. She gets the hump at that but no one said life was fair..

I can vouch for LILs house, i was totally blown away when we arrived there the other night, absolutly amazing place, i think the pool at the same level as the kitchen makes it so much better aswell, but if what you said about half the house being down the hill in a few years time i guess it will not be so great then.
I do not need a pool at home as i found myself swimming in safari with LBs the other night after jumping from the top bit, not the smartest move as i did not even know how deep it was, luckily it was deep enough.
where you heading this weekend, my last this trip so maybe catch you somewhere.

Cant say swimming in Safari's muddy pond ever appealed to me.. Now if they cleared that out and made a pool nightclub place.. did foam parties etc.. that would stone cold rock the party..

You could live in a hotel but it's only one room and that's allright if you are there for a short period even a couple of months but if you lived there full time you'd want a bit of space and privacy.

Works out about 1000 quid a month what do you get in London for that, that's the comparison I can tell you it's not a 5 bed villa with private pool over looking the beach and bg's to boot.

Even way down here in NZ you'd be paying 3 -4 mil minimum for a pad like that in that sort of area and that's not baht.

You were lucky! mg: 3 yrs ago, a friend of mine took a dive in a pool. Even though it was not a shallow pool, he dove from the top of the cabana, hit his head on the bottom. It was a very nice funeral. : Many tears were shed. Only 27 years old and as nice a guy as you'll ever meet. Damn shame!

I wonder how much it would be to buy a house like that, not especially in Patong, Kata, Karon or even the beach I always forget the name of, near the zoo?

I am begining to get tired of my place. It is also very nice, pool, good weather in summer, but I have the bad luck that the woods around me have been condamed, and they are" building around me everywhere. The noise is so unbeareable, I cannot sit on my terrace an anywhere. Pitty with 4000 m2!

So if hte price of such a place could be reasonable I would sell the house here, buy a smaller one in a quiet place and one in Los...

Nah, I am dreaming, could get a decent price for the house, but the kids has to stay in school.

Depends on if you want built for you or have the patience to build.. I am told by the builder that this place took 8m to build the house but another 8m on pilings and retaining walls (theres a 30m drop on the back side of the property !!) then with land costs (bck a while) the project had no change from 20m and so this was not a great investment.. Often build price is 1/2 purchase price..

Quality land (views and convienient location) is getting more and more scarce so location location location being the 3 golden rules of property can effect values so much..

Nice homes and pools (or room to add a pool) in a moderately nice area (not seaview but quiet like Rawai / Nai Harn / Chalong could range from 8m to 14m for a nice home.. Going up to 20m away from patong gets a PAD (4 bed home BIG pool, guesthouse in the grounds, 1 - 2 rai plot) considering the amieneties of Phuket with airport, schooling, shops, internet, etc its no wonder values are rising.. What does 400k Euro get you in Paris ??? or 275kGBP in London !!
