I had this same discussion at another forum, and there I was boasting that Monterrey cops DO NOt, and I am not kidding, hassel Americans visiting the clubs (we have no Zona here), nor they ask for bribes.
I had guy from Houston, Tx I know, that drives his car to Monterrey.
He tells me "of course they do"
He was stopped around 6 am by Transit Authority on his way to leave his Monterrey club girl and he accepted he was way into more than just 2 beers... he had to bribe the cop so himself and his car were not impounded.
Well, I told him... do you drink and drive in the USA???
I don't, so if am stoped here I just tell the cop to go away, no bribes no nothing.
But it is true: both Mexicans and Americans are the first to offer a bribe.
Even here for us Mexicans, there are those that prefer to bribe the cop 300 pesos over a fine that will be no more than 250.

Amigomio, You know I was once reading the Gringo Gazette, they are had an interesting article saying. 'Traffic cops in Mexico are not always the wrongdoers." While I don't agree with everything in the article. I do believe lot of Gringos do offer bribes to the TJ cops even before they are accused of doing anything wrong. I had a friend that was stopped by the TJ cops, he was with his 30 year old TJ puta girlfriend. And right away my friend takes out the money and asks how much is this going to cost? And then gives the cop $40 dollars!

We were with another Mexican girl who lived in Mexico before, we were telling my friend he was crazy to just pay $40 saying he should at least put up a little fight first, but he just said, Na Na, I not like you guys/girls, I'm not going to ride around with them for 45 minutes until they get all my money....Fuck it, I'm just going to pay them, and get them out of my hair.

The point of the story is that even newbies the first time going to Tijuana, are going to know about the TJ cops and they accept bribes, and it's true, almost all of them do. I certainly would if I were a TJ cop with the amount of money they pay the city pays them, but I would draw the line, to only illegal activity. I wouldn't make things up. So really you don't need to be a seasoned vet to Tijuana to know how to pay a bribe. Just remember the TJ cop doesn't make money if he gives you a ticket or takes you to see the judge, their bread and butter is in bribes.

The only advice I'd give is try to wait till they ask for a bribe, or if you ask, do it in a good way, for example, asking them, ' is there some other way I can take care of this ticket, or why can't I just pay you to take care of it for me?'

If your still concerned about taking nude pictures on your camera in Tijuana, don't take nude pictures, just take regular pictures with the provider standing there dressed, besides the pictures will still be sexy, if you pick the right girl.

Besides, taking nude pictures of a girls pussy and ass are hard to do. It's hard to ask, and many many of them say no to those kind of pictures, you;ll have better luck taking a picture after you had a session with her, and she is dressed,and you haven't paid her yet. Just ask for the picture, and I bet she'll say yet.

But there are many that are just too wet behind their ears.
Those laws whose links I placed, they can be used against you if the police so desires.
You sir, might be able to tap dance your way around them, but Iam just pointing out that there are laws and regulations prohibiting them... something that many Americans going to TJ do not know.
Many think that la Zona is free for all, that everything is permited, like many think that protitution is legal in Mexico, and that you can walk around drunk and wasted.
If you side step all laws by paying bribes, good for you.
But some of your fellow Americans should at least be well informed that they will be paying a bribe for something that could get them in trouble.

Yeah, it's not a big deal to take pictures in the zona. I have been taking pictures for about 5 years, and never ran into problems with them. I even had some cops stop and search me found the camera, but didn't even look at the pictures.

Now it's true some TJ cops might try to fuck with you if you have pictures, especially nude pictures. And some guys have even been fucked with having regular pictures no nudity, now that's bullshit, and you should tell the cops it's bullshit, and that no judge would fine you for those pictures.

Those are nice links Amigomio posted, however I have to disagree that if you enjoy paying bribes you'll be out in within several hours. Usually, when you pay a bribe, you are released right there. Lets say I had real nasty pictures of pussy shots, and the cops caught me, I would just ask, if it's ok If I just pay you the fine, and he'll probably say yes, $60 dollars, and I'll say how about $20, and he'll it and I'll walk. If the pictures are with cloths on, I'll say ok, lets go see the judge, believe me they will not take you to see a judge. Now if your are in prison, then I guess it takes several hours to get bailed out?

A lot of mongers take pictures in the zona, however only a few post them of websites, but I have yet to hear of anybody actually going to court over pictures, ( right Burt?) Now Twatman, filming porn movies got in trouble with the law, but that's another story.

Another thing of being careful of is taking pictures in the alley or in the bars. You could lose your camera that way. I had friends that have had their camera taking away from them in bars before. I myself have been warned in Hong Kong, not to take pictures, but they didn't take my camera.

And not all chicas will allow you to take pictures of them. I'd say maybe half will let you, depending on the bar and location. It's usually not a good idea to pay them extra money, the ones that will let you, will let you, and the ones that usually say no, money won't help most of the times, but there are exceptions. ( I paid $5 dollars a few times, but never more than that)

The worst picture friendly bars are Adelitas, Chicago Club, and the SGs in the alley. The best in my opinion are Hong Kong bar, and Bar Tropical.

Yes memory card switching will work and also cheap disposable cameras will also work good. ( before you get out of the Taxi, always check for your keys and camera, you don't want to leave either behind.)

And when you are meaning business with your girl, switch memory media... and then again, when you are finished, switch it again.
Camera... I guess the same unless it's analog video, which make it tougher to hide, but it is possible.

Sampson is right... even clothed pictures might get you in trouble, I know it sounds ridiculous, but it's true.
Has happened here in Monterrey (third largest city in Mexico) but they have the same rulings as in all towns, concerning pornography.
Poor sap here, was taking pictures of girls right in the open in a comercial street in the downtown area... police hauled his ass, but the judge let him go after seeing the pictures, anyway he had to sit it out for a couple of hours in jail.

The police will push the envelop on pics, but I have intervened for friends on a few cases...if you have pics taken with permission and they are clothed, you can just tell them to take you to a judge.....so far on three occasions my friends have not had to see the judge and have had their camera with pics returned.
