Spending Problem?? Need Advice

I've been an on and off visitor to AMP's over the past 5 years but have recently gotten back into it since the beginning of the year. Just wondering how much is too much? I've been going maybe 2 times a month , so maybe $400-500 per month...which is pretty substantial for an average wage earner like myself.

Any advice as to whether I am spending too much time and money on this hobby ? and advice on how I can possibly cut back?

I usually look at it this way.......gambling or pooning......if i lose at gambling, i get nothing, so an hour of pooning is much more enjoyable.

i totally understand what it is u mean. how much is too much. well if ur spending more than u make in 2 weeks then u've got a problem. of if ur spending to the point where u are just getting by because ur spending too much then thats not good either.

the key is to find a vehicle that will help u make more money than u can spend and then you'll be both a happy consumer and a happy pooner cuz then it doesnt matter anymore ur spending habits cuz u make too much money

Pooning like any other hobby should be done with discressionary cash. Once it starts coming out of your day to day or retirement monies, introduce yourself to the palm sisters. Hobbies should remain hobbies and not addictions.

Don't forget that us pooners control the amount which is charged.
If we were not so generous we would be charged less and not at the same rate as lawyers.

For a retired pooner, without an employers pension, to spend $1000 a year, without deflating his savings he must set aside $25000 earning 4% per annum to obtain this amount.

On this basis I resist paying more than $100 for a R & T. and only go 5 0r 6 times a year.

If you're an average wage earner with average disposable income you're spending too much. 400 - 500 browns a month is equal to 4800 - 6000 a year.

Maybe pooning will be a motivating factor for me to work harder and earn higher than an average salary. Going to a MP 2 times a month equates to 400-500 and for a typical hobby, people spend up to 10% of their salary, then I would have to target making 5,000 after tax per month. I think thats in the 90,000 to 100,000 range. Sheesh, thats a tough goal but something to work towards. Untill then I'm going to go only once a week and concentrate on just micros to avoid the room charge.

Back in the good old days, three years past, I used to drop anywhere from $1,000 - 2,000 per month in AMPs, and not just in Vancouver. USA, Asia, etc...

Limited budget means limited visits. That's why this board is important. Once a month for me. and that's to visit an independent so I don't have to pay a room charge. Still that's more than $1500/pa. Best return on the dollar are those micro brothels. A little affraid of the cops shutting one down while I 'm there. Happy hunting

Like any interest or hobby I think the line is are you controlling your hobby or
is your hobby controlling you.
It would seem to me that control would indicate spending what you can afford.
What we can afford for our interest of course varies on basis of our incomes and
expenses.
Big difference between a interest and a addiction.
A addiction could be bad news for meeting your other financial requirements.
When does a interest become a addiction would make for an interesting discussion.
