hey rodinz, when you say the tui na place , is that the place on essex and hester. I dont remmeber any region beauty place near there. I've never been to a tui-na, but I use a few criteria....1-are the rooms private or open, 2-the "look" of the gal and how she goes about her business, 3- when the place closes.

Rudimentary to be sure, but all make sense.

but i wanted to add that i agree with everything tempter said especially about if a tui na place being within the same vicinity of a place that offers extras there is a good chance that it will start doing so also. the tui na i went to was basically next door to region beauty which had extras.

The place you're referring to is Green Massage. They're completely legit, (they even have a picture of mayor bloomberg on their website). I've been there about 10 times. Really, 48 bux for an hour, is a good deal and only once I had a semi-ok rub. All the other time, it's been a good solid rub. I've notice the last few times i went, they start getting a bit more sensual. on the flip, they'll do more light touching and they'll rub you right by the boys, occasionally glazing it, but that's it. I guess it's their ploy to try to get more tips. all in all a good place for a good inexpensive rub.

I've been to one of these Tui Na places. Good value, 60min for .5 (+tip). But at least the one I went to (on 37th, next to frankie and jonnies) the place is divided up like a hospital ward, just sheets separating the tables. Table isn't too comfortable and it's covered with that tissue paper you find in doctor's offices. I went at lunchtime, place was empty except for the ladies and mamasan. Decent massage, but that's all. Not even an inclination of extras. I guess if you're looking for a strict massage, OK. But definetly not for me. I guess you hit the lottery, gejnyc

happened to me too, in a suburban tuina place. the confusion for me was that the expectation of the HJ kinda took away from the pure relaxation part of the massage, which was always stellar. these women really know how to massage, as opposed to the pushing and poking that many other inexperienced untrained masseuses do. I used to go there and not care too much about which girl did the massage, because they were all equally great. but now I almost by default end up with the same girl and I feel like I can not rotate anymore without offending Ms. HJ. There is another girl there that is way more attractive, but I don't know if all of them provide extras, or if my regular girl is a renegade. The place itself has little privacy, just rice paper screens 6ft high and many women go to this place too. whenever I get the HJ, she also puts her hand over my mouth to make sure that I don't let out an errant moan. lately she has been whipping out a breast and feeding me like a baby too... I don't tip any more than I used to, so it is confusing.

Your "world is all confused", I would call it a pleasant surprise you are talking like it's a bad thing. Most guys have to ask and beg for those extras. Let us know where the place is and share the wealth, also who the massage lady was if you can remember her name after all the trauma you suffered.

The HJ is sometimes possible at small, legit, or storefront Tuina places for those customers the women know and like. It all depends upon privacy, how strict the boss is, and the individual woman. At a lot of Tuina places they will tease you but not to completion. (They'll refuse to touch the goods, but don't necessarily mind if you please yourself.) Building a relationship with an individual masseuse is important. They'll think you're an animal and be offended if you try on the first visit, but, once they get to know you and see your pain/pleasure, they might happily take pity on you. (Besides, in Asia, the HJ is often routine.) In short, women at these places are the very definition of YMMV. You shouldn't count on the extra, but it may be possible.

That said, there has been an explosion of new Tuina shops in the city. I think the competition is occurring not between these places and the R & T outfits, but among all these new legit places. They need an edge, so they might be more willing to please customers they know to ensure that they will come back. I've noticed that the willingness to "tease" has increased a great deal as well as the willingness to provide a HJ after some visits.

This woman probably misses you and your business and wants to get you back from all those other masseuses!

I have been going to this Chinese Tui Na place in Midtown for a few years now and always know what to expect. Usually a solid massage with an older Chinese woman, some are cute, but in a motherly sort of way. Sometimes I do 60 and sometimes 90 minutes (for 50 or 70 respectively, standard rates).

So, I go in the other day after not having been there for a while for a 90 minute sessions knowing what I am going to get and not going to get. the masseuse is a woman I have had before, cute but older that I would be interested in for anything other than massage. so, 80 minutes into my 90 minute massage I find myself the recipient of a pretty good hj. I was stunned. Finishes me, cleans me up and asks if I liked it.

So what is up with that? I have never had this type of service from this type of place? Now my world is all confused. Are they feeling the pressure from the r&t places and changing their menu or was it always available and I just never asked?
