As others have indicated, if you arrive in LOS with a good-natured, non-confrontational attitude and use common sense you should have no worries at all.
Maybe this is not a great analogy, but, I lived in Hawaii for several years and some(small %) of the locals(most of which are of various pacific island herieforum.xxxe such as Samoan, Tongan, Filipino and others) have a disdane for white people(haole). If you're a haole and are looking for trouble you will find it. If you're easy going and show respect for the islands and share aloha you will be accepted with open arms. You will still inevitably get "stink eye" from the hard core locals especially if you have a local gf(huge double standard), but if you keep your cool you will have no problems.
i also felt a similar reaction in Costa Rica when visiting there.
Common sense and a good attitude will defuse most situations. And, yes, as slampay mentioned, avoid the violent early morning fruit vendors55555. If you must, order your fruit then DUCK!!
