The law is very confusing.

Why is it legal to solicite and pay 2 adults to have sex with each other in order to make a porno film. Yet it is illegal to solicite someone to have sex with you? Where is the logic?

No, the law is pretty clear as to what is legal and what is not. You (and I) may find it annoying and illogical, but after reading this thread, you should now know clearly what you can and cannot do legally.




The law reflects society's attitudes, and if people are not logical, it need not be logical either. If you want to change the law, you must change public opinion.

If your question was also a legal one, I would just say that the porno producer's actions are not covered by s.213 C.Cr., and so are legal. (ie: no sollicitation in public)

Also note that porn actors are not engaging in prostitution while doing their 'show'. (NB.: the C.Cr doesn't define prostitution).

Bill Wishnousky of Pointe Claire steals $3 million from senior citizens, and he gets a pansy-style hanky slap on the wrist, and his daughter is rewarded with a Canada Council grant for "art" that a puppy with finger paints could do a better job of, but, Heaven help us if he had done something as evil as opening a brothel...The message of the federal and provincial governments is that sex is bad but stealing in the financial markets is acceptable. They have their definitions of "screwing" mixed up.

Why not? One great thing about Canada is that these places and SPs are 100% legal (except the FS clubs).

In fact, I first heard about prostitution being legal in Canada from a young lawyer who had no problem saying that he hired them from time to time.

Anyways, you don't need to be a lawyer to look up laws and cases for free on the Internet.
