Because it is a relatively new product, I have no real world experience with it. But according to some manufacturers, solid bamboo, or solid hardwood of any kind, is not reccommended for below grade applications due to moisture issues.

Fear not, there are some OEMs who are making engineered bamboo floors which are acceptable for below grade applications as long as a suitable vapour barrier/underlayment is used.

Sucker lol....Moen isn't as bad as Danze, Price Pfister etc but I can't tell you how many times I've had to go back for service calls on them. I only use Delta, Kohler or Grohe......in units that are 10 yrs + old I've never had a call back on them.

If you keep your eyes open, you can get Delta for less than Moen and sometimes even less than the bargain basement ones.

To tell you about delta: when I was doing my loft downtown, I got a steal on a delta roman tub filler. Someone had ordered it in S.O. and then never picked it up. $400.00 on for $149.99. I needed a shower controller to match so Rona had one for $149.99 but it had the cheesy clear plastic "crystal" handles. I wrote Delta an email asking about the availability of the handle I needed. 2 days later I got a purolator notice of delivery on my door. Went down, whoop, there's a package from Delta. Inside? The handle I needed...charge? None. I never asked them for it, I just asked about if they were available....

(please note: this was before they were available as a "part" on their website).

They won me over for life that day.....

My question is natural BAMBOO a grass which grows in water and is stripped then formed under steam and pressure. While harder than MAPLE but not as dense as EPAY
Bamboo seems to be an interesting product.

As for hardness...that may be true but with hardness comes fragility. I've worked with extremely hard woods before and believe me, they splinter and split as soon as you look at them wrong......
