Time Keeping for Massage

i space my clients 15 to 30 mins apart, so i don't have that problem. i'm not in a spa though.

I do give a full hour on the table (leaving space between clients so this is possible), but it doesn't bother me that there are other MT's who only give 50 min. treatments. To each their own. As for clients not being bothered, I disagree. Some clients don't mind (obviously, or spas would have no business). But I have gained a number of clients who left other therapists because they felt "shorted" on the massage time; I've also had new prospective clients call and specifically ask if I do 50 or 60 minute "1 hour" massages. So clearly it's important to some people.

I always provide "one hour of hands on work." This means with assessment and after care check-in, rescheduling, etc. I am usually with clients for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Booking 30 minutes between clients works best for me. Take care!

I usually schedule 30 minutes between clients so I have time to chat with each client and deal with anything that might "come up" during their session. I am solo and so I also need the time to return phone calls, schedule appts, change the linens, etc.
I just wanted to add that I have had clients point out that they never feel rushed when they come to me, and they feel like I am all about them while they are there (because it's rare that the next client shows up while first client is still there). As stated in an earlier post, if I scheduled them closer together I could get more people in, but I like my clients to feel like they are my #1 priority.

On a lighter note - though I realise this might make some people cross! - I remember my massage tutor telling us about a therapist she once knew who moved the hands on his treatment room clock once clients were face down on the couch. That way, the time moved that much faster!
