I have read the comments and from my own experiences and friendships I have made through the years my conclusions are as follows:


The holistic licenses are being abused by those who were unable to get the appropriate licence.

I have found after visiitng a number of these "hollistic" places that the majority are not clean the girls are working at assembly line speeds and more than likely are in the country illegally and probably are working to pay off their landing expenses.

As for LS1's comments I agree with most of them. If I trained to perform accupuncture or other hollistic discipline that I should be able to do so without having to worry about the public's perception of my business. Right now there are a number of ligit practitioners who are getting slighted because of these lowlife businesses.

I personally prefer to go to a properly licensed establishment or an sp. You know the old saying you get what you pay for and with these holistic places you may be getting more than what you paid for.

It's in the print edition of the paper, not the online version. The reporter visits 4 MPs and lists what was offered. 1715 was one of those locations.

It's just too ridiculous that journalists and politicians pee their pants when it comes to interfering with bath houses, but strut all high and mighty when it comes to MPs.

Surprisingly a lot of the people responding to this article on the toronto star website share a lot of the views we have here on massageplanet.net. I was expecting a lot of ignorant conservative views. And do have to give SOME credit to the star for being brave enough to publish these comments.

Now, who are you to say these people are low life's if you really don't know shit about them, also if you had actually read the story than you would understand that the whole point of this article is that the have a cap on body rubs, which makes it impposible to get a license and thats why holistic centers are opening. ( WHEN YOU WALK INTO A MASSAGE PARLOUR DO YOU ASK "IS THIS HOLISTIC OR BODY RUB?" I doubt it!

hmmm couldn't those who are trained in accupuncture or other holistic discipline just say they are a legit practitioner? i mean when ballet dancers tell people they are dancers are they scared people will think they are strippers? when i say i'm a hockey player am i afriad if i go to europe people will think i'm a sissy field hockey player? all it takes is a simple explaination, don't get all bent about terminology.

second of all yes the hollistic designation is used but i believe it is mostly due to the city capping the number of body rub establishments.

If you read everything I have said I spoke that I was a retired SP and MPA. I was never hardened up or ugly or not picked but I was at the center of both industries and I saw and heard things that only us ladies know. So I speak from my heart and if that is perceived as aggressive than maybe it is but the bottom line is so simple. Keep escorts as escorts providing full service etc. Keep MPA as a girl that does massages and may provide additional seductive services but never crosses the line to the status of an escort.

What totaly irks me is the sheer hyprocrisy of city politicians.

Point 1 - The city has issued 25 "body rub" licenses at 10K a pop and renewal at just under 10K, plus all the attendant licenses

Therefore what they are saying is that the sexual activity (up to what is defined as the legal limit in Canada) in these establishments is O.K. and encouraged. They just don't want hundreds of these around the city. O.K. fair enough, I can buy that.

Point 2 - They see a demand for non "body rub" holistic centres. How can they grab a chunk of that? By licensing, of course! So they set up a low level of money grab from these businesses.

Thats all well and good except that the dim bulbs in city hall didn't see this problem coming? Of course they did, but hey, money is money, and we'll deal with the problems later. Lets just keep issuing licenses by the hundreds!

Point 3 - Well, now 95% of the licensees are "abusing" the idea of what the holistic license is meant for. Surprise, surprise. Oh and poor us, we can't keep up with all the licenses that WE issued.

Yeah, it's The Star's own thing, not a general story like an earthquake, but they put it on the top half of their front page and are making it a three part feature, not just a small item in the GTA section, which is probably what it deserves to be. They seem to think it's a big deal. The absence of attention it's receiving should tell them it's not surprising or shocking people the way they thought it would.

There are huge differences. The main one is that in body rub it is how it sounds. I full body massage with sensuality as described in the by-laws in the City of Toronto. Holistic is to be restricted to only the upper body and is the systematized manipulation of soft tissues for the purpose of normalizing them. Practitioners use a variety of physical methods including applying fixed or movable pressure, holding, or causing movement to the body. Therapists primarily use their hands, but may also use their forearms, elbows. True Holistic Massage takes 2 years training at an accredited college. Most of these holistic places have fake creditials and most girls know nothing about Holistic massage or medicine as it applies.

When the City allowed body rub back in the 1995 it realized then that it was basically a rub and tug but these 25 places were allowed to operate. When people realized that they could get a holistic licence and eventually get caught they didn't care because it was better than operating without any licence and easily closed down. SO then came the slave trade and more accessible FS.
